Description
Summary:Guided by an ethnographic approach, we present an original profile typology of teens’ social practices on the Internet. Following a one-year panel survey of teens, aged between 12 and 18, this typology has been elaborated through face-to-face interviews, participatory observation and online self-reporting diaries. It brings to light the multiple regimes of social meanings that this new media offers in the everyday life of teens. It also shows that the Internet is appropriated by teens as a new social space for experimenting with new ways of defining their social identities and their social environment.
