This fratricidal story, set by the text in the earliest times of human existence, both affirms the existence of violence at the heart of human relationships, and offers a framework for its symbolic interpretation. In supermodernity, and in a secular society, this religious metanarrative loses its efficiency. This, in turn, questions the way our contemporary society deals with the interpretation of violence. |
