description This essay analyzes one of the most important colonization projects during Porfirio Diaz presidency (1876-1910), and identifies the different stages in the process that led to the migration and settlement of Italian families in Mexico. It examines the adaptation of Italian immigrants who found themselves inserted into an unfamiliar heterogeneous reality. This project is significant because it represents a study that reflects the political economy of the 19th century not only in Mexico but also elsewhere in Latin America.
