Description
Summary:The article analyzes the direct transfer of land from small farmers to large landowners. The aim was to characterize the network of land sales in a valley in Chile’s central zone between 1820 and 1835 and to identify the socioeconomic position of its actors. The network was reconstructed from contemporary notarized documents processed by the UCINET software. The results show the dependence of medium-sized landowners’ network possessing a high capacity for intermediation and reception of land.
