description This paper describes a solution to the problem of improving the design of an electromechanical device with two perpendicular axes of rotation. This device is part of the fan shaft balancing system’s drive system. The aim of this improvement was to obtain the highest possible value for the electromagnetic torque. A simplified three-dimensional model and the finite element method were used to solve the problem. The analysis showed that structures with better torque characteristics as a function of speed, especially for the fan rotational speed, were obtained. Measurements verified the results of these analyses.
