description Abstract The application of the concentric torque-split face gear transmission on the main gearbox of helicopter is analyzed. Based on the definition of equivalent displacement and equivalent stiffness, the mechanism of the uneven load sharing of the concentric torque-split face gear transmission is revealed. The load sharing calculation model of the concentric torque-split face gear transmission is established by an analytic method. With the help of numerical method, the influences of the factors of the system on the load sharing behaviors are preliminarily explored. The results show that the load sharing performance of the system is less sensitive to the backlash when the support stiffness of the input pinion is low.
