Description
Summary:This article analyzes the educational exchanges between Chile and the United States during the early decades of the Cold War, a period marked by the expansion of educational opportunities between the two countries. Starting from the challenges faced by the US Embassy in Santiago in coordinating and documenting the various existing educational activities, this work represents a first attempt to map the actors and programs involved during the period. Drawing on primary sources from key institutions such as the Department of State and the Institute of International Education, the study examines the interactions between Chilean and US actors, proposes a periodization of these exchanges, and, through statistical data analysis, provides a comprehensive overview of the flow of Chilean students to the United States.
