| Summary: | This empirical study investigates the practical impact of different types of time-based organization of shiftwork. After a theoretical follow-up, we compare three types of staff schedules in the same hospital located in Picardy (fixed night schedules and alternating schedules) in order to determine their consequences on sleep, eating behavior, and social and family life. The results show that the extent of these consequences is related to different aspects of the time-based organization of shiftwork. |
