description | The rise in environmental awareness characterizes most governments and institutions in the Western world. In addition, integration into the European market and trade with OECD countries requires compliance with stringent environmental standards. The markets that Israel exports require that the supply chain meets high standards. Increased awareness of global environmental risks and increased enforcement and demands from world market firms have led to rapid growth of tech clean markets (Israeli companies offering alternative energy technologies, such as Ormat and Solel companies) are experiencing rapid economic growth. As a country with a lot of human capital and an innovative high technology industry, Israel has the ability to innovate and lead in finding solutions to environmental problems in the world. There is a real business advantage for market leaders operating at the forefront of technology and development, and preferably, the state will assist the business sector to realize this advantage. |
