| Summary: | Il contributo si propone di porre le premesse per uno studio sull’apporto delle varietà italoromanze settentrionali al lessico commerciale tedesco. Dopo aver introdotto brevemente il contesto storico, si considerano inizialmente alcuni indizi fonetici utili a stabilire la provenienza di italianismi attestati nel Frühneuhochdeutsch (1350-1650). In un secondo momento, si analizzano indizi di tipo grafico e semantico, che permettono di fare considerazioni sulla provenienza e sulla modalità di penetrazione degli italianismi. Infine, si inquadrano i settentrionalismi della documentazione tedesca in un più generale processo di diffusione nell’Europa nordoccidentale, evidenziando riscontri nella documentazione di altre varietà, come il neerlandese, l’inglese e lo svedese.
The Impact of Northern Italo-Romance Vernaculars on the German Business Vocabulary: Preliminary Considerations
The aim of this contribution is to lay the groundwork for a study of the impact of northern Italo-Romance varieties on the German business lexicon. After a brief introduction to the historical context, we first consider some phonetic clues that are useful for establishing the origin of Italianisms attested in Frühneuhochdeutsch (1350-1650). Secondly, we analyse graphic and semantic clues, which allow us to reflect on the origin and mode of diffusion of Italianisms. Finally, we consider northern Italianisms in German documentation within a more general process of diffusion in northwestern Europe, drawing parallels with the documentation of other varieties, such as Dutch, English and Swedish.
