Delay-optimal spectrum decision method for cognitive network by Wu-jian SUN, Na LI, Yang LIU, Le SUN, Tao CHEN, Hao LI, Ou LI

    Published 2012-11-01
“…Spectrum decision was investigated within the confine of spectrum management framework for cognitive radio networks.Sensing errors in PHY layer, outage probability on wireless channel and multiple interruptions of primary user were taken into consideration.Probability-based and sensing-based spectrum decision methods were proposed, which were capable of balancing traffic evenly among licensed. For the probability-based method,short-time first discipline was employed to further shorten average residual time,closed-formed expression were presented based on dynamical programing. For the sensing based method, new channel could be chosen for uncompleted transmission, which alleviated the time spent in waiting primary user.Optimal residual time was obtained by choosing the minimal value of the two methods.Furthermore, spectrum heterogeneity was taken into consideration and theoretical analysis was of general sense.Simulation results validate the approach is efficient.…”

    Published 2015-10-01
“…In the last decade we have seen a transition over a multitude of data transmission technologies, from EDGE, UMTS, and HSPA to LTE, with 5G already on the horizon. This presents an extremely heterogeneous environment where problems are difficult to pinpoint, because of either the fast changing radio channel conditions, daily mobility of the user base, or a number of fallback technologies that are available at a specific location and chosen by the terminal itself. …”

Performance analysis of mixed FSO-RF transmission in UAV relay communication systems by Su XU, Ji ZHANG, Yanghua DIAO, Yuanying LIU, Yi ZHANG

    Published 2022-04-01
“…A mixed free space optical (FSO)-radio frequency (RF) transmission was studied in the multiuser unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-aided terrestrial network.Specifically, a novel beamforming (BF) scheme was proposed based on the available statistical channel state information (CSI), and the outage performance of the considered system was analyzed. In this mixed framework, the link between the base station and the UAV employs the FSO technology, while aerial-terrestrial links use RF technology. To achieve the space division multiple access (SDMA) in RF links.First of all, the available statistical CSI was proposed, and a novel beamforming (BF) scheme was proposed to suppress the inter-user interference so that all the users can be served simultaneously. Then, based on the assumption that the FSO and RF links follow the Gamma-Gamma fading and Nakgami-m fading respectively, an analytical expression was derived for the outage probability (OP) of the considered system.Furthermore, the asymptotical OP expression in high signal-to-noise ratio regime was presented to evaluate the achievable diversity order. Finally, numerical results were given to confirm the validity of our theoretical analysis and the superiority of the proposed scheme.…”

Research on the Power Flux-Density at the Earth’s Surface Produced by Emissions from the Fixed Beam of NGSO Constellation System by Ying HUANG, Chen JIAN, Wei LI, Kang YAN

    Published 2022-03-01
“…The power fl ux-density is an interference criterion for protecting terrestrial service systems from non-geostationary orbit (NGSO) constellation systems.Based on the defi nition of power fl ux density(PFD), a calculation method on the PFD produced by the emissions from the fi xed beam of NGSO constellation system was given. On the basis of describing the PFD constraint conditions of the NGSO fi xed-satellite service system given by ITU, a method for determining the limits of PFD from the NGSO constellation system was presented.Taking the Starlink system as the typical scenario, the PFD produced by telemetry, tracking, and control (TT&C) beam of the Starlink system was analyzed. The results showed that the analytical results of the given method were consistent with those of the Starlink system, and the PFD of TT&C beam in the 18.55-18.6 GHz frequency band exceeded the limit given in radio regulations.Under the current ITU framework, the number of the satellite constellation is a decisive factor for the legal use of the Ka band by NGSO constellation system.…”
