Compact RFID tag antenna based on square spiral resonator by Libin DAI, Zhimeng XU, Jiade YUAN

    Published 2024-03-01
“…A miniaturized ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID) tag antenna was designed. The antenna was composed of two square spiral resonators shorted inside and outside.By adjusting the edge length of the outer ring spiral resonator and the spacing between the inner and outer ring spiral resonators, the resonant frequency of the proposed tag antenna could be effectively tuned. The simulation results show that the proposed tag antenna has good impedance matching and the frequency band range covers the whole UHF band (840~960 MHz).It has a dimension of 7.60 mm×7.60 mm×0.05 mm, which is 96% smaller than the traditional spiral resonator (SR) antenna. The measure result shows that the proposed tag antenna achieves the maximum reading distance at 910 MHz in 4 W effective isotropic radiated power. The proposed UHF RFID tag antenna has some advantages of small size, wide frequency band, low cost and easy batch fabrication, and is suitable for applications with small size requirements.…”

Automatic Calibration Using a Modified Genetic Algorithm for Millimeter-Wave Antenna Modules in MIMO Systems by Cheng-Nan Hu, Philip Lo, Chien-Peng Ho, Dau-Chyrh Chang

    Published 2020-01-01
“…Herein, we adopt a design example involving a 64-element MIMO antenna array arranged in a triangular lattice (instead of the commonly used rectangular lattice) to achieve a 3°dB enhancement in effective isotropic radiated power. Analyzing a grating lobe diagram indicates a scan volume of ±60°/±45° in the azimuth/elevation direction. …”

Turbulent drifts of impurity ions as an explanation for anomalous radial transport in the far-SOL of DIII-D by S.A. Zamperini, T.N. Bernard, D.L Rudakov, J.A Boedo

    Published 2024-01-01
“…Successful fusion reactor operation relies on minimal core contamination by impurities, otherwise too much power may be radiated and harm performance. This requires reliable predictions of impurity transport from the scrape-off layer (SOL) into the core, beyond the traditional ‘anomalous’ diffusion approach. …”

Metrics and Methods for Evaluation of Over-The-Air Performance of MIMO User Equipment by Yifei Feng, Werner L. Schroeder, Christoph von Gagern, Adam Tankielun, Thomas Kaiser

    Published 2012-01-01
“…The variety of different MIMO operating modes and the almost unlimited choice of possible multipath channel conditions under which UE performance may be evaluated are not accounted for by established Single Input-Single Output (SISO) Over-The-Air (OTA) performance metrics like Total Isotropic Sensitivity (TIS) and Total Radiated Power (TRP). As pointed out in this contribution, meaningful metrics and cost-effective, low-complexity measurement methods can, nevertheless, be derived by focusing on characterization of the physical attributes of UE and by adopting statistical metrics. …”
