Improved CPD based DOA estimation of nested array
Published 2021-08-01“…In order to avoid searching the peak value in space domain, when estimating nested array’s the direction of direction of arrival(DOA), the canonical polyadic decomposition(CPD) was applied into the nested array, namely using the one time singular value decomposition(SVD), bilinear mapping and tensor decomposition to obtain the steering vector matrix and arrival angle. However, the existing CPD algorithm only can be applied in noiseless environment, the algorithm was improved by utilizing SVD two times, and was made to be applied in both noiseless and noisy environments. The simulation results demonstrate that in the same signal to noise ratio(SNR) and snapshot, the DOA estimation algorithm of nested array based on the improved CPD has better performances and less running time than the MUSIC and space smoothing algorithms.…”

Application of Perceptual Filtering Models to Noisy Speech Signals Enhancement
Published 2012-01-01“…The perceptual filtering gives a number of subbands that are individually spectral weighted and modified according to two different noise suppression rules. The importance of an accurate noise estimate is related to the reduction of the musical noise artifacts in the processed speech that appears after classic subtractive process. …”

Combined wideband speech enhancement method based on statistical model and EMD
Published 2013-08-01“…A combined wideband speech enhancement method based on statistical model and empirical mode decomposition (EMD) was proposed.First, statistical model was used to eliminate the main noise component in noisy speech. Then, the residual noise was further suppressed by a post-processing module which is a speech enhancement algorithm with voice activity detection (VAD) based on EMD.The advantages of the two methods were combined effectively. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated under the standard of ITU-T G160.The experimental results indicate that the algorithm is more effective for improving the SNR in the different noise environments than classical statistical model approach.Meanwhile,in low SNR conditions, musical noise is reduced effectively, and the speech sounds more comfortable.…”

Improved speech enhancement based on spectral subtraction and auditory masking effect
Published 2008-01-01“…Taking into account the masking properties of human auditory system and the uncertainty of the speech pres-ence,the novel algorithm modifies the log-spectral amplitude estimation and the speech absence probability(SAP) pa-rameter.Then,the smoothing parameters in noise estimation and prior SNR estimation are adaptively adjusted to modi-fied SAP parameter which reflects the degree of stationary of the measured signal. The change of smoothing parameters allows for automatic adaptation with various noisy environments and obtains the best trade-off.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm has better performance of speech articulation without any perceptional musical-ity,compared to another modified spectral subtraction algorithms under the same level of noise reduction, and this supe-riority is more significant at very low SNR.…”
