Spatio-temporal Evolution and Matching Characteristics of Water and Heat Resources in Tibet Plateau in Recent 48 Years by DONG Lingxiao, ZHANG Yanmin, JIANG Peidong, DONG Qianjin

    Published 2021-01-01
“…Due to the special high altitude, low atmospheric pressure, strong radiation and sufficient sunshine, the water and heat resources in the Tibet Plateau is very rich, and the ecosystem of the Tibet Plateau is very sensitive to climate change and human activities. Therefore, the study on the spatial-temporal evolution and matching characteristics of water and heat resources in Tibet Plateau is of great significance to the development of local agriculture and animal husbandry. This paper calculates the reference crop evapotranspiration from 1970 to 2017 in Tibet Plateau by using Penman-Monteith formula, analyzes the spatial distribution and temporal variation of the reference crop evapotranspiration, and the spatial and temporal patterns of water and heat indictors such as rainfall, temperature, reference crop evapotranspiration and moisture index, establishes the matching model of water and heat resources in Tibet Plateau by considering the factors of rainfall, air temperature and evaporation, and studies the matching characteristics of water and heat resources in Tibet Plateau through the model. The results show that the spatial distribution of water and heat resources in the Tibet plateau basically presents two kinds of characteristics:large in the southeast, small in the northwest,or large in both ends of the southeast and northwest, and small in the central region, and shows a significant upward trend in time. The matching of water and heat resources gradually improves from northwest to southeast, with a significant enhanced trend from 1970 to 2017,which are favorable to the development of local agriculture and animal husbandry.…”

Measured Wave Characteristics in Pearl River Estuary under Typhoon Impact by ZHU Xiaowei, HOU Peng, LIU Xiaojian, WANG Qisong, WANG Qiang, GUO Huiqun, LIU Qinqin

    Published 2023-01-01
“…The nearshore wave environment of the Pearl River Estuary is significantly affected by typhoons.Based on the buoy observation data in Macao waters of the Pearl River Estuary, wave characteristic parameters (wave height, wave direction, wave period, etc.) and their correlation during the impact of 11 typhoons from 2017 to 2022 were analyzed, and the impact of typhoons on the nearshore wave environment at the Pearl River Estuary was studied. The results show a high correlation between the maximum wave height and the significant wave height, between the one-tenth of the large waves and the significant wave height, and between the significant wave period and the significant wave height, and then the empirical formula is fitted.During the typhoon influence in this area, the main wave direction is SSE with a frequency of about 37.92%;the secondary wave direction is S with a frequency of about 26.11%.For the extreme waves with a significant wave height of greater than 3 m and a maximum wave height of greater than 4 m,the frequencies are 0.65% and 1.95%,respectively.The wave direction is mainly distributed in ENE-SSW.For long-period waves with a mean wave period of greater than 6 s,the wave direction is mainly distributed in ESE-S,with a frequency of about 12.86%.These wave parameters relationships and characteristics can provide references for the design and research of coastal protection projects such as seawalls and breakwaters in the Pearl River Estuary.…”

Spatiotemporal Characteristics of Reference Crop Evapotranspiration in Inner Mongolia from 1959 to 2018 by WANG Bin, QIAO Shuaishuai, LIU Jifa

    Published 2023-01-01
“…To comprehensively understand the impact of climate change on reference crop evapotranspiration (ET0) in Inner Mongolia, the daily ET0 of 50 meteorological stations in Inner Mongolia in the past 60 years was calculated using the FAO Penman-Monteith formula, and further investigated spatiotemporal characteristics, interdecadal and cyclical changes of ET0 in Inner Mongolia. The results showed that the distribution trend of ET0 gradually decreased from west to east in Inner Mongolia, the multi-year average was 1 018 mm,while the climate tilt rate was 4.2 mm/10a,showing a significant upward trend. The sum of ET0 in spring, summer and autumn, the growing periods of crops, accounted for about 95% of the total annual value, while the spatial distribution was similar to the annual value. The annual average ET0 in various climate zones followed a descending order:ultra-arid climate zone, arid climate zone,semi-arid climate zone, dry and semi-humid climate zone, humid and semi-humid climate zone. The variation coefficients of the climate zones were low, showing weak variability, and abrupt changes occurred in different climate zones at the end of the 1990s.The ET0 change cycles were mainly 59a,14a and 24a.…”
