Weighted evidence combination method based on power-Pignistic probability distance

Evidence combination based on the degree of credibility and falsity
Published 2015-05-01“…D-S evidence theory has been widely used in various fields of information fusion due to its efficiency in deal-ing with uncertain information.Unfortunately,combination of conflicting evidences by classical Dempster's rule may produce counter-intuitive results.To alleviate this problem,a new weighted average combination rule is proposed.Defi-nitions of correlation coefficient was first presented,followed by the introduction of falsity.Then the credibility of evi-dence is proposed.A new weighted coefficient is determined by credibility and falsity.To achieve convergence,the nor-malized weighted coefficient was suggested into the Dempster's combination rule to average the basic probability as-signment.Comparable numerical examples demonstrate that the proposed approach can combine conflicting evidences more effectively.Moreover,the proposed methodology can provide a faster identification of the observed object.…”

Weighted evidence combination based on degree of credibility and certainty
Published 2017-01-01“…To overcome the invalidation problem of Dempster rule with high conflict,a weighted combination method based on degree of credibility and certainty was proposed.Firstly,the cosine similarity was modified to hold the ability to measure the evidence conflict when multi-subset focal elements were included,followed by the building of evidence credibility model.Secondly,the evidence certainty model based on precision and entropy was presented,which can both reflect the evidence’s degree of multi-subset focal elements and the dispersion degree of probability assignment.Then the weighted coefficient was determined by credibility and certainty.Finally,the normalized weighted coefficient was used to average the basic probability assignment,and the final combination result can be obtained according to Dempster rule.Numerical examples show that,compared with other traditional weighted combination methods,the proposed approach has made better performance in reducing conflict and accelerating convergence.…”

Evidence combination method based on Pignistic function transformation and correlation coefficient

Research on alert correlation method based on alert confidence in multi-IDS environment
Published 2011-01-01“…To overcome the shortcoming of current alert correlation methods which didn’t consider the confidence of IDS,an alert correlation method based on alerts confidence using the evidence theory was presented.Each alert was regarded as a piece of evidence of a network attack.Then multiple pieces of evidence were combined by the Dempster’s combina-tion rule,and used to infer whether the attack corresponding to the alerts took place.As a result,the ambiguity and con-fliction in alerts were eliminated,achieving the goal of improving alerts quality.Experimental results on the DARPA 2000 IDS test dataset show that the proposed method can efficiently decrease the false alert rate and reduce more than 60% of the alerts.…”
