Performance analysis of orthogonal signals with TASP/MRC diversity by Guangqiu LI, Siting WANG

    Published 2017-05-01
“…In order to solve the design problem of predictive transmit antenna selection (TASP) / receive antenna maximum ratio combining (MRC) wireless communication system with the minimum mean square error (MMSE) channel prediction, exact and approximate closed-forms for the average symbol error rate (ASER) of M-ary ortho-gonal and biorthogonal signals with coherent detection and TASP/MRC over Rayleigh block fading channel were de-rived by using parabolic cylinder function, the approximate expression of Gaussian Q-function and moment generat-ing function (MGF) based analysis approach respectively.Numerical and simulation results show that the theoretical analysis of the ASERs of orthogonal and biorthogonal signals is exact and the approximate closed-form for the ASER of orthogonal signals is accurate. The above exact or/and approximate closed-forms of ASER of orthogonal and biortho-gonal signals with coherent detection and TASP/MRC can be used to determine the number of antennas of transmitter and receiver and the parameters of predictor quickly, instead of the time-consuming and inefficient computer simulation.…”

Performance analysis of physical layer security based on channel correlation by Xuanli WU, Zhicong XU, Yuchen WANG, Yong LI

    Published 2021-03-01
“…In view of the correlation of the main and eavesdropper’s channels in physical layer security, the impact of channel correlation on the secrecy performance was studied, the exact form ulations of ergodic secrecy capacity and secrecy outage probability were derived, and then the asymptotic formulations in the scenarios where the channel states were large and small were given. The theoretical analysis were verified by the numerical simulations. The simulation results show that channel correlation will cause the loss of ergodic secrecy capacity, however, it does not mean the outage probability of communication will increase with high channel correlation.Actually, when the outage rate is set reasonably, the impact of channel correlation is related to the average signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at the receiver end.At high SNR range, high correlation will decrease the outage probability, at low SNR range, high correlation will increase the outage probability, and at medium SNR range, the correlation will not affect the outage probability significantly.Based on the above conclusion, the parameters can be set according to SNR and correlation, so that the secrecy performance can be maintained.…”

Analysis of MSK jamming effectiveness based on effective jamming coefficient by Zengmao CHEN, Qian YAN, Zhiguo SUN, Rongchen SUN

    Published 2022-11-01
“…For the problem of communication jamming effectiveness, an effective jamming coefficient was proposed as an evaluation metric based on the correlation between jamming and communication signals, and the impact of orthogonal receivers was analyzed.Specially, minimum shift keying (MSK) and several typical binary modulation signals were chosen as the target communication and jamming signals, respectively.Jamming effectiveness evaluation was performed for the above mentioned scenario by deriving its theoretical bit error rate (BER) formulas. Moreover, for coherent jamming scenario with MSK being the jamming signal, the impact of its phase difference, frequency difference and delay on the jamming effectiveness were also systematically analyzed. The analysis suggests that to achieve better jamming effectiveness, different jamming modulation scheme should be chosen according to the signal-to-noise (SNR) of the jamming communication signal.Simulation has also shown that there is a good match between the derived theoretical analysis and numerical simulation of the proposed method effectiveness, which has proven its accuracy and validity.…”

Performance Analysis of Buffer-Aided FSO Relaying with an Energy Harvesting Relay by Chadi Abou-Rjeily

    Published 2025-01-01
“…We derive the transition probabilities between the states of the Markov chain after discretizing the continuous-value energy buffer allowing for the evaluation of the analytical performance of the considered system. A numerical analysis is also presented over a turbulence-induced gamma–gamma fading channel highlighting the impacts of the data rate threshold levels, relay position, relay transmit power and propagation conditions on the achievable performance levels. …”
