Spatiotemporal Variations of Heavy Rainfall and Its Response Relationship with Wind Speed over the Pearl River Basin by QIAN Shuni

    Published 2023-01-01
“…In addition, the variation of wind speed before and after heavy rainfall is explored. The results show that:① the annual total amount of heavy rainfall in the upstream shows a significant downward trend, but the annual average wind speed behaves oppositely, which declines significantly in the midstream;② Greater wind speed means a lower heavy rainfall threshold in the upstream, while the threshold in the midstream and downstream increases first and then decreases as the wind speed rises;③ The wind speed gradually drops before a heavy rainfall event in the upstream and begins to rise two days after the heavy rainfall while it increases before a heavy rainfall event and decreases after the heavy rainfall in the midstream and downstream. The research can provide a reference for the management of heavy rainfall and flooding in the Pearl River Basin.…”

Slip Effects on Peristaltic Transport of a Particle-Fluid Suspension in a Planar Channel by Mohammed H. Kamel, Islam M. Eldesoky, Bilal M. Maher, Ramzy M. Abumandour

    Published 2015-01-01
“…A motivation of the present analysis has been the hope that such theory of two-phase flow process under slip condition is very useful in understanding the role of peristaltic muscular contraction in transporting biofluid behaving like a particle-fluid mixture. Also the theory is important to the engineering applications of pumping solid-fluid mixture by peristalsis.…”

A CDFT-Based Computational Peptidology (CDFT-CP) Study of the Chemical Reactivity and Bioactivity of the Marine-Derived Alternaramide Cyclopentadepsipeptide by Norma Flores-Holguín, Juan Frau, Daniel Glossman-Mitnik

    Published 2021-01-01
“…Thus, this work reports the results of a computational study of the chemical reactivity and bioactivity properties of this cyclopentadepsipeptide considering a CDFT-based computational peptidology (CDFT-CP) methodology that results from the combination of the chemical reactivity descriptors that arise from conceptual density functional theory (CDFT) together with some cheminformatics tools that can be used to estimate the associated physicochemical parameters, to improve the process of virtual screening through a similarity search, and to identify the ability of the peptide to behave as a potential useful drug, complemented with an analysis of its bioactivity and pharmacokinetics indices related to the ADMET (absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity) features. …”
