The Role of Media Use and Emotions in Risk Perception and Preventive Behaviors Related to COVID-19 in South Korea by Sungjoong Kim, Sung Kyum Cho, Sarah Prusoff LoCascio

    Published 2020-08-01
“…The eight negative emotions, identified using factor analysis of a series of 11 emotions, were anger, annoyance, fear, sadness, anxiety, insomnia, helplessness, and stress. Negative emotions themselves were influenced most strongly by the respondent’s anxiety over social safety (*βf*=.286), followed by prediction of COVID-19 spread (*β*=.121, *p*<.001) and perceived risk of COVID-19 infection (*β*=.70, p=.023). …”

Dynamic principal modeling of cemented phosphogypsum stabilized soil under dry and wet cycles. by Zhangrong Ji, Kaisheng Chen, Kai Zhang

    Published 2025-01-01
“…The test results show that: (1) the effect of wet and dry cycles has a greater impact on the dynamic constitutive model of the mix, Monismith exponential model is suitable for the dynamic stress-strain curves in the case of wet and dry cycling; (2) The dynamic shear modulus-dynamic shear strain constitutive model of phosphogypsum stabilized soil was established based on dynamic soil mechanics, and the fitted correlation coefficients were all higher than 0.85, and the maximum values of MAE and RMSE were 4.827 and 5.990, respectively; (3) The prediction of the dynamic resilience modulus of phosphogypsum stabilized soil can be fitted by Ni model and power exponential model; (4) By comparing the dynamic and static modulus of rebound, it is concluded that the value of dynamic modulus of rebound for phosphogypsum-stabilized soil under dry and wet cycles is 1.1-1.5 times of the static modulus of rebound, and the recommended value of dynamic modulus of rebound is 90-100 MPa.…”

Research on the Deformation and Failure Mechanism of Flexible Formwork Walls in Gob-Side-Entry Retaining of Ultra-Long Isolated Mining Faces and Pressure Relief-Control Technology... by Heng Wang, Junqing Guo

    Published 2025-05-01
“…The key findings are as follows: ① Blast-induced roof cutting reduces the cantilever beam length adjacent to the flexible formwork wall, thereby decreasing the load per unit area on the flexible concrete wall. This reduction consequently alleviates lateral abutment stress and loading in the floor heave-affected zone, achieving effective control of roadway surrounding rock stability. ② Compared with non-roof cutting, the plastic zone damage area of surrounding rock in the gob-side entry retained by flexible formwork concrete wall is significantly reduced after roof cutting, and the vertical stress on the flexible formwork wall is also significantly decreased. ③ Distinct differences exist in the distribution patterns and magnitudes of working resistance for face-end hydraulic supports between the wide coal-pillar side and the pillarless gob-side-entry retaining side after roof cutting. …”
