Group housing increases alertness and social interaction compared to traditional single stabling in two-year-old sport horse stallions during pretraining
Published 2025-08-01“…Stallions were 24 months old and housed either in a group stable (Group 24, n = 9) or in individual boxes (Box 24, n = 10), or they were 30 months of age and housed in individual boxes (Box 30, n = 10). Cortisol, heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), body development, injuries and selected behaviour patterns were analysed (1) at transfer from pasture to stable and (2) thereafter, repeatedly during pretraining. …”

Family institution and change of reproductive behaviour patterns of Russians in the formation of a new socio-gender order and country demographic environment
Published 2024-08-01“…These changes require an in-depth study and understanding in order to develop effective measures to support the family institution and increase the birth rate in Russia. The paper examines in detail the peculiarities of the Russian demographic situation, including analysis of the birth rate and problems of interethnic marriages. …”

Intelligent Stress Detection Using ECG Signals: Power Spectrum Imaging with Continuous Wavelet Transform and CNN
Published 2025-02-01“…This study proposes a model based on depth-separable convolutional neural networks (DSCNN) to analyze heart rate variability (HRV) and detect stress. Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals are pre-processed to remove noise and ensure data quality. …”

Research on Diffusion Patterns of Gas Produced by Energy Storage Lithium Batteries due to Thermal Runaway
Published 2025-06-01“…The subsequent modeling of cell combustion, combined with experimental data, allows for the accurate correction of the heat release rate curve using a modified dichotomy method. In the numerical simulation stage, the corrected heat release rate curve, along with the large eddy simulation (LES) method, is used to simulate the thermal runaway combustion process of battery modules within containers. …”

Numerical assessments of scour depth predictions downstream of box culverts under various flow and blockage conditions
Published 2025-03-01“…The analysis revealed that predictions from numerical models corresponded closely with experimental outcomes, although the scour depths calculated by the models were generally lower than those observed under both steady and unsteady flow conditions. While blockage rates notably impacted scour patterns in the first hydrograph of unsteady flows, increasing blockage percentages did not reliably result in proportional increases in scour depth, as seen in the second hydrograph for unsteady and both steady flow conditions.…”

Numerical Analysis of Conditions for Partial Discharge Inception in Spherical Gaseous Voids in XLPE Insulation of AC Cables at Rated Voltage and During AC, VLF and DAC Tests
Published 2025-06-01“…Using COMSOL 6.1 and MATLAB R2021b, a coupled electro-thermal model of a 110 kV AC cable was implemented, for which the critical gaseous void dimensions were estimated and phase-resolved PD patterns were generated for the rated voltage and the VLF and DAC test voltages specified in the relevant standards. …”

Rates and causes of mortality among children and young people with and without intellectual disabilities in Scotland: a record linkage cohort study of 796 190 school children
Published 2020-08-01“…Objectives To investigate mortality rates and causes in children and young people with intellectual disabilities.Design Retrospective cohort; individual record linkage between Scotland’s annual pupil census and National Records of Scotland death register.Setting General community.Participants Pupils receiving local authority-funded schooling in Scotland, 2008 to 2013, with an Additional Support Need due to intellectual disabilities, compared with other pupils.Main outcome measures Deaths up to 2015: age of death, age-standardised mortality ratios (age-SMRs); causes of death including cause-specific age-SMRs; avoidable deaths as defined by the UK Office of National Statistics. Results 18 278/947 922 (1.9%) pupils had intellectual disabilities. 106 died over 67 342 person-years (crude mortality rate=157/100 000 person-years), compared with 458 controls over 3 672 224 person-years (crude mortality rate=12/100 000 person-years). …”

Formation of productivity of binary and single-species cenosis in the conditions of the Western Forest-Steppe
Published 2022-12-01“…Mineral fertilizer N32P32K32 ensured the formation of a greater number of beans, the mass and number of grains in the ear, and plant productivity, but had a negative effect on the process of root nodule formation: in mixtures with vetch, their mass decreased by 0.82–0.84 g/plant (to 0.52–0.66 g), in mixtures with lupine – by 0.07–0.17 g/plant (to 2.29–2.36 g). The same pattern was observed in single-species crops. Reduction of the seeding rate of the grain component by 1 million germinated seeds/ha in mixtures with legumes contributed to the increase in the number of grains in the ear (panicle) and seeds in the bean pod. …”
