Daily meal frequency and its associated factors among children aged 6–23 months in Ethiopia: a Bayesian hierarchical Poisson model
Published 2025-07-01“…Compared with children between the ages of 6–8 months, those between 9 and 11 months (AIRR = 1.55 95% CrI: 1.374, 1.754), 12–17 months (AIRR = 1.72, 95% CrI: 1.543, 1.911), and 18–23 months (AIRR = 95% CrI: 1.90, 1.692, 2.125) had 55, 72 and 90% higher rates of DMF, respectively. In the Afar region (IRR = 0.77, 95% CI: 0.615, 0.982), Somalia (AIRR = 0.83, 95% CrI: 0.682, 1.01), Benishangul (AIRR = 0.8, 95% CrI: 0.639, 0.994), Southern nation nationality and people’s region (SNNPR) (AIRR = 0.73, 95% CrI: 0.596, 0.894), and (AIRR = 0.73, 95% CrI: 0.572, 0.925) decrease the daily meal frequency by 33, 17, 20, 27 and 27%, respectively, compared with that of children from Tigray.Conclusion and recommendationThe rate of DMF was low in Ethiopia and exhibited a significant clustering pattern across the country. …”

Readmissions after hospitalization for heart failure, acute myocardial infarction, or pneumonia among young and middle-aged adults: a retrospective observational cohort study.
Published 2014-09-01“…However, whether young and middle-aged adults share a similar risk pattern is uncertain. We compared the rate, timing, and readmission diagnoses following hospitalization for heart failure (HF), acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and pneumonia among patients aged 18-64 years with patients aged ≥ 65 years.…”

Fertility intention and its correlates with reproductive-aged married women in Ethiopia: an adapted theory of planned behavior (TPB)
Published 2025-03-01“…The population continues to grow at a rate of 2.7 and fertility rates remain at 4.6. Fertility is one of the three key aspects in shaping population dynamics, as women’s fertility intention for children play a significant role in determining actual fertility rates. …”

Decomposition Dynamics of Leaf Litter Mixtures Enriched with NPS Fertilizer and Resultant Effects on Common Bean Productivity in Nutrient Depleted Soil
Published 2022-01-01“…The experiments (litterbag and crop response) were laid out in a randomized complete block design with three replications. The decomposition pattern was monitored at a two week interval (15, 30, 45, and 56 days after application) and assessed for daily decomposition rate (k), weight loss, and time required to decompose half of the residue (t50). …”

Landscape, demographic, and dispersal parameters influence the spread and establishment of an aquatic biological invasion
Published 2024-08-01“…Next, we use statistical models to assess the influence of a suite of abiotic (conductivity, pH, turbidity, calcium), biotic (Atlantic salmon occurrence), and landscape (watershed relief, watershed area, distance to original introduction) variables on brown trout establishment (i.e., presence–absence) patterns. We find that observed coastal spread in Newfoundland is slow (~4.4 km/year), and that it lies on the lower end of the range of predictions made by the reaction–diffusion model parameterized based on the estimates of growth rate and movement from the literature (predicted spread range 1.4 to 92 km/year). …”
