Resultados: las mujeres predominaron sobre los hombres, con el 61,2%, e imperó el grupo de 60 a 69 años,   con 45%; de los factores de riesgo asociados con el síndrome metabólico prevaleció de manera general la hipertensión arterial en el 97,5% de los casos, las amas de casa sobresalieron con el 45%; la diabetes mellitus tipo 2 resultó ser la complicación más frecuente del síndrome metabólico; el 41,2% de los pacientes ingresados permaneció ingresado entre 7 y 14 días, de estos el 28,7% perteneció al grupo de pacientes con complicaciones. …”
