Biochemical composition and caloric value of pelagic fsh and squids from the Okhotsk Sea
Published 2018-12-01“…Later, during transition to the stage IV, and especially to the stage V, the fat decreasing and proteins watering is observed in its muscles. On opposite, the post-spawning herring at stage VI–II has the minimum parameters and caloric value in spring but enhances them to autumn, after intensive fattening, when caloric value of its mince becomes twice higher than for muscle tissue because of lipids accumulation in the subcutaneous tissue. …”

Snake Venom Peptide Fractions from <i>Bothrops jararaca</i> and <i>Daboia siamensis</i> Exhibit Differential Neuroprotective Effects in Oxidative Stress-Induced Zebrafish Models
Published 2025-05-01“…In vivo, neither pf-<i>Ds</i> nor pf-<i>Bj</i> (1–20 µg mL−1) induced significant developmental toxicity in zebrafish larvae up to 120 h post-fertilization (hpf). The neuroprotective effects of both pf were evaluated using two experimental models: (I) Larvae at 96 hpf were exposed to either pf-<i>Ds</i> or pf-<i>Bj</i> (10 µg mL−1) for 4 h, followed by co-exposure to H2O2 (0.2 mmol L−1) for an additional 10 h to induce oxidative stress (4–20 h model); (II) Embryos at 4 hpf were treated with pf-<i>D</i>s or pf-<i>Bj</i> (10 µg mL−1) continuously until 96 hpf, after which they were exposed to H2O2 (0.2 mmol L−1) for another 24 h (96–120 h model). …”

Self-reported health and depression among EIRA cohort: a moderated mediation model of sex and perceived social support
Published 2025-06-01“…Men reported experiencing more social support and self-perceived health (p < 0.001) than women at the beginning of the study, but women reported higher social support at post-intervention. Moderation analyses showed that, post-intervention, those women (bsimple = −2.9867, p < 0.001) and males (bsimple = −1.4337, p < 0.001) who scored lower in depression reported higher social support.ConclusionIn primary care, it is necessary to encourage intervention strategies that promote social networks as a key element of positive action aimed at maintaining and improving the population’s health, especially in adults and more specifically in women.Clinical trial registrationClinicalTrials.gov, identifier NCT03136211.…”
