The impact of breaking up prolonged sitting with physical activity during simulated dayshifts and nightshifts on sleep architecture: a randomised controlled trial
Published 2025-07-01“…In the analysis of day shifts, mixed model ANOVAs demonstrated a significant physical activity *sleep opportunity interaction for total sleep time (p < 0.001), sleep onset latency (p < 0.001), time spent in N2 (p < 0.001) and N3 (p = 0.03). Post-hoc analyses revealed that participants in the 9 h sleep opportunity conditions had longer total sleep time, shorter sleep onset latency, and more slow-wave sleep (N3) during sleep opportunities 1–4 but not sleep opportunity 5. …”

Analysis of microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of FGH101 powder superalloy and IN718 deformed superalloy via inertia friction welding
Published 2025-01-01“…Microhardness analysis revealed higher hardness at the weld interface, followed by a sharp decline near the Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) on the IN718 side due to phase re-dissolution, while FGH101 showed quicker recovery. Post-weld aging treatments enhanced hardness and strength through γ′ and δ phase precipitation in FGH101 and γ″ phases in IN718. …”

Effect of Repetitive Peripheral Magnetic Stimulation Combined with Task-Oriented Training on Motor Function and Motor Evoked Potential of Upper Limbs in Stroke Patients
Published 2025-06-01“…The Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS) was used to evaluate the muscle tone of elbow flexor and wrist flexor muscles before and after treatment; the short-form Fugl-Meyer Assessment for Upper Extremity (FMA-UE) scale was used to evaluate the upper limb motor function of patients; the Modified Barthel Index (MBI) was used to assess the patients' activities of daily living; and the MEP amplitude and latency of the abductor pollicis brevis muscle on the affected side were measured to evaluate the excitability of the cerebral cortex on the affected hemisphere.Results(1) Comparison of muscle tone of the elbow flexor and wrist flexor muscles: Compared with pre-treatment, MAS scores of the upper limb elbow flexor and wrist flexor muscles decreased after treatment in both groups (P<0.05); compared with the control group, MAS scores of the elbow flexor and wrist flexor muscles in the experimental group decreased more significantly after treatment (P<0.05). (2) Comparison of upper limb motor function: Compared with pre-treatment, FMA-UE scores increased after treatment in the two groups (P<0.05); compared with the control group, FMA-UE score increased more significantly in the experimental group after treatment (P<0.05). (3) Comparison of activities of daily living: Compared with pre-treatment, MBI scores of the two groups increased after treatment (P<0.05); compared with the control group, MBI score of the experimental group increased more significantly after treatment (P<0.05). (4) Comparison of excitability in the cerebral cortex of patients: Compared with pre-treatment, MEP amplitude of abductor pollicis brevis muscle on the affected side increased (P<0.05) and the latency period shortened (P<0.05) in both groups after treatment; compared with the control group, the experimental group had a significantly larger MEP amplitude and shorter latency of abductor pollicis brevis muscle on the affected side after treatment (P<0.05).ConclusionrPMS combined with task-oriented training can enhance cortical excitability of the affected hemisphere, reduce upper limb muscle tone, improve upper limb motor function, and improve activities of daily living in post-stroke patients.…”
