Influence of Water Injection Pressure on Methane Gas Displacement by Coal Seam Water Injection
Published 2022-01-01“…The test results show that with the same displacement time, the ratio of displaced methane increases with the increase in the water injection pressure. The displacement rate increases with the increase in the water injection pressure at the stage without water discharge, while the water displacement rate under different water injection pressures differed slightly; in the later displacement stage, a higher water injection pressure of the coal sample results in a faster attenuation of the displacement rate and water displacement rate due to the decrease in the methane content in the coal sample. …”

Slugs hide in the dark: Artificial light at night alters fitness and activity of dominant herbivores with consequences for ecosystem functioning
Published 2025-06-01“…In one of the two illuminated slug species, we found that ALAN reduced its activity at night, juvenile growth, and survival rate. At the community level, feeding activity of slugs was reduced in artificially illuminated sites, and this was related to reduced herbivory. …”

The role of vascularity and the fibrovascular interface in interstitial lung diseases
Published 2025-02-01“…Currently, therapeutic approaches based on specific structural targeting of pulmonary fibrosis are limited to nintedanib and pirfenidone, which can only slow down disease progression leading to a lower mortality rate. Lung transplantation is currently the only available curative treatment, but it is associated with high perioperative mortality. …”

Positional information trade-offs in boundary-driven reaction–diffusion systems
Published 2025-01-01“…We show that in boundary-driven simple exclusion systems with position-dependent Langmuir kinetics, non-trivial Pareto-optimal trade-offs exist between the PI, rescaled entropy production rate and global reaction current. Phase transitions in the optimal protocols that tune the densities of the system boundaries emerge as a result, showing that distinct protocols are able to exchange global optimality similar to phase coexistence in liquid–gas phase transitions, and that increasing the PI can lead to diminishing returns when considering increased dissipation.…”
