A Brief View of the Surface Membrane Proteins from Trypanosoma cruzi by Ángel de la Cruz Pech-Canul, Victor Monteón, Rosa-Lidia Solís-Oviedo

    Published 2017-01-01
“…Hence, T. cruzi displays several modifications when they move from one host to another. Due to the complexity of this parasite’s cell surface, this review presents some membrane proteins organized as large families, as they are the most abundant and/or relevant throughout the T. cruzi membrane.…”

Improved SMC cardinality-balanced multi-Bernoulli forwardbackward smoothing track-before-detect algorithm by Jiazheng PEI, Yong HUANG, Yunlong DONG, Xiaolong CHEN

    Published 2019-08-01
“…For the tracking problem of multiple maneuvering targets in radar observation, the sequential Monte-Carlo cardinality-balanced multi-Bernoulli track-before-detect (SMC-CBMeMBer-TBD) algorithm is inaccurate in the estimation of the number of targets and the precision of state estimation. An improved algorithm based on SMC-CBMeMBer forward backward smoothing track-before-detect algorithm was proposed. In the algorithm, the multi target particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) was added between the process of prediction and update, and the fitness function was set up based on the observation value to make the particle set move to the position of the larger posterior probability density distribution, and solve the particle poverty in the heavy sampling process. In the update step, the algorithm was used. Then the smoothing recursive method was added, and the arithmetic operation time was prolonged, but the number and the state estimation precision were improved. The simulation results show that compared with the CBMeMBer-TBD method, the proposed algorithm improves the accuracy of the estimation of the number of maneuvering targets and the accuracy of the target state estimation.…”

Natural Teleology in Hume's "Sceptical Solution" by Jonathan Cottrell

    Published 2024-05-01
“…"Sceptical Solution of these Doubts" is a pivotal moment in Hume's first Enquiry: it provides his account of our warrant for inductive reasoning, and thereby explains how he can consistently move from his "Sceptical Doubts" about induction to his eventual endorsement of inductive science at the Enquiry's conclusion. …”

State-Granted Practice Authority: Do Nurse Practitioners Vote with Their Feet? by John J. Perry

    Published 2012-01-01
“…Using data from the National Sample Survey of Registered Nurses and a dataset of state-level nurse practitioner prescribing authority, a multivariate estimation is performed analysing the impact of greater practice authority on the probability of a nurse practitioner moving from a state. The empirical results indicate that nurse practitioners in states that grant expanded practice are less likely to move from the state than nurse practitioners in states that have not granted expanded practice authority. …”
