Integrated movement models for individual tracking and species distribution data
Published 2025-02-01“…In addition, the integrated approach (a) improves accuracy of other estimated movement parameters, (b) allows us to estimate the proportion of migratory and non‐migratory birds in a given location and time, and (c) estimate future spatiotemporal distributions of birds given a wintering location, which provide estimates of seasonal connectivity and migratory routes. We demonstrate how IMMs can be successfully used to address the challenge of estimating accurate population‐level movement parameters. …”

Assessing The Impact of Tea Production on The Economic Development of Local Community: A Case Study of Kayonza Tea Factory in Kayonza Sub- County Kanungu District.
Published 2024“…The study findings show that the factors that have favoured tea production were land availability which is a major factor consisting 90% of the respondents, farm labour, relief, agro-input use and the growing promotion as a strategic agricultural enterprise, the contributions of tea production in Kayonza sub-county Kanungu District were a source of income which is the major contribution of tea production (97%), employment opportunities, foreign exchange earner for the county, contributing to food security, infrastructural development, and the challenges affecting tea production in Kayonza sub-county Kanungu District were pest and diseases which is the major challenge to tea production (90%) cost of production, lack of comprehensive policies, , poor road networks and infrastructures, poor agricultural technology, marketing and value¬addition constraints, climatic changes and seasonal effects and poor access to information. The government of Uganda under the Ministry of Agriculture initiated a strategy to support priority agricultural enterprises at the zone level and it is under this approach that tea production has been promoted over the years in Kanungu District. …”

Performance of Sisal Fabre as Natural Geotextile to Reinforce Soil Layers on Unpaved Road.
Published 2024“…The main objective was to investigate the performance of sisal fibre as a natural geotextile to reinforce the soil layers on unpaved roads so that we solve the problem of developing potholes, rutting, corrugation, weak subgrade resulting into mud formation, poor drainage system, non-uniform narrow width, stoniness, and environmental pollution from dust during dry seasons, rapid gravel loss, and these all together have increased regular maintenance costs. …”
