Study for Urban Dike-pond System on Non-point Pollution Control in Hydro-fluctuation Belt of the Hanfeng Lake by ZHANG Xin, CHEN Yaxian, ZHENG Yarong, XIAO Xing, WANG Yan, SUN Rong

    Published 2020-01-01
“…Based on the wetland system of urban landscape dike-pond,and enhanced biological treatment of dike-pond by planting a variety of aquatic plants, this paper discusses the ability of multi-pond wetland system to reduce nitrogen, phosphorus,COD and other pollutants in urban surface runoff, and analyzes the concentration change of nitrogen, phosphorus,COD and other pollutants in urban surface along the lake. The results show that:Before and after rain, the multi-pond system has a better treatment effect on urban surface runoff;the larger the area and the higher the vegetation coverage, the better the treatment effect on surface runoff sewage. Both before and after the rain, artificially designed dike-ponds have higher pollutant removal efficiency than the natural dike-ponds.In overall, the wetland systems of urban landscape dike-pond have better treatment effect on surface runoff, the removal efficiency after rain is higher than that before rain, and TN,TP,NH+4-N,COD reduces along the lake.…”

Research on Rainfall Infiltration Characteristics of Loess Slopes Based on Different Rainfall Intensities by GUAN Xiaodi, YAO Yifan

    Published 2023-01-01
“…In this paper,a homogeneous loess slope in Qingyang,Gansu Province is used as a reference prototype. An indoor model slope that satisfies similar conditions is built.Rainfall infiltration experiments are carried out on the slope under different rainfall intensities, and the corresponding rainfall infiltration rules and scour laws are obtained. The research results show that the rainfall infiltration rate is different at different positions of the slope, which is in descending order of the top,the foot, and the middle of the slope. The rainfall infiltration depth is the largest at the foot of the slope, followed by that at the top of the slope, and the smallest value is observed at the middle of the slope. The rainfall infiltration depth of the slope is 10~15 cm,15~25 cm,18~35 cm,and 20~40 cm in the cases of light rain, moderate rain, heavy rain, and rainstorm, respectively.…”

The performance of a high‐resolution satellite‐derived precipitation product over the topographically complex landscape of Eswatini by Wisdom M. D. Dlamini, Samkele S. Tfwala

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Nonetheless, CHIRPS 2.0 captures well the spatial distribution of rainfall in the different agroecological zones of Eswatini, even in areas with no rain gauge data. In conclusion, CHIRPS 2.0 can be a very valuable tool in filling gaps created by poor spatial coverage of ground‐based rain gauges, especially in the developing world where this is often the case.…”

Impact of Irrigation Ecology on Rice Production Efficiency in Ghana by John Kanburi Bidzakin, Simon C. Fialor, Dadson Awunyo-Vitor, Iddrisu Yahaya

    Published 2018-01-01
“…The impact of irrigation ecology on technical efficiency is about 0.05, which implies farmers producing under irrigation ecology are more technically efficient in their rice production than those in rain fed production. The impact of irrigation ecology on allocative efficiency is about 0.33, which shows that farmers participating in irrigation farming are more allocatively efficient in their rice production than those in rain fed production. …”

Applicability Evaluation of TRMM Satellite Precipitation Data in Jiangsu Province by XU Shanshan

    Published 2023-01-01
“…According to the measured data of 167 rainfall stations in Jiangsu Province from 2000 to 2013,the feasibility of the application of TRMM satellite precipitation data (TRMM 3B42 daily precipitation products and TRMM 3B43 monthly precipitation products) in Jiangsu Province is tested and discussed at multiple scales. On the multi-year average scale, the spatial distribution of TRMM precipitation data and measured precipitation data are decreasing from south to north, but the precipitation value of TRMM is higher than the measured one.On the daily scale, the coincidence degree between TRMM 3B42 precipitation data and measured precipitation data is tested by precipitation frequency, missing and empty retrieval rates, and precipitation classification. The missing and empty retrieval rates of Lianyungang and Suqian are lower, thus,in the two places,TRMM inversion data are more accurate to distinguish whether there is precipitation in the actual situation. The relative error of TRMM 3B42 data for measuring light rain is relatively large, while it is small for medium rain, heavy rain, and rainstorm. On the monthly scale,it can be seen that the consistency between TRMM 3B43 data and ground data is overall high by examining the correlation coefficient and the absolute error. The correlation coefficient is the highest in Xuzhou and the north of Lianyungang but slightly lower in the south of Jiangsu and surrounding areas of Hongze Lake.On the annual scale, the variation coefficients between the measured precipitation data and the TRMM precipitation data are compared, and they show the same law that the fluctuation of precipitation is small in the south of Jiangsu but large in the north.…”
