Climate Projection of Dongjiang River Basin Based on Statistical Downscaling Methods by DU Yi

    Published 2023-01-01
“…For higher reliability of climate projections in the Dongjiang River Basin, various methods are used to statistically downscale the air temperature and precipitation output generated by the global climate model CanESM2.The results reveal that SDSM and Delta have good downscaling simulations on the temperature and precipitation in the Dongjiang River Basin, respectively. For temperature, the daily minimum temperature will increase by 2.26 ℃ (RCP4.5) and 3.65 ℃ (RCP8.5);the daily mean temperature will increase by 2.70 ℃ (RCP4.5) and 4.69 ℃ (RCP8.5),and the daily maximum temperature will increase by 2.79 ℃ (RCP4.5) and 4.95 ℃ (RCP8.5) by the end of the 21st century (2081—2100) relative to the benchmark period (1961—2005).In terms of precipitation, the annual precipitation will rise at a rate of 16.4 mm/10a,8.7 mm/10a,and 25.4 mm/10a under the RCP2.6,RCP4.5,and RCP8.5 scenarios, respectively. In addition, the temperature increase is more prominent in summer and winter, while precipitation increases more in summer and autumn.Overall, the risk of temperature extremes and precipitation extremes in the Dongjiang River Basin during the flood season may increase in the future.…”

Research on In-situ Sludge Solidification in the Ecological Refuse Landfill Closure Project by ZHANG Xiaoyu, ZHOU Xianjin, CAO Jun

    Published 2021-01-01
“…For the site pilot test of in-situ sludge solidification in a large ecological landfill closure project in southwest China, this paper adopts five kinds of curing agent mix ratios for site construction, adds curing agent and conducts in-situ mixing with cleaning and mixing equipment after pretreatment of sludge, and drills and samples the treated refuse soil after rolling and curing. The test results show that the sludge treated with five kinds of curing agents could meet the design requirements on pH,moisture content, shear strength and unconfined compressive strength.Through the comparison of shear strength and unconfined compressive strength, the effect of No.5 curing agent is the best, that is,in the curing agent, the ordinary silicate content is 19.3%,the fly ash content is 6.43%,and the curing agent ratio is 25.73%.In the actual construction, the No.5 mix ratio is widely used.In addition, according to the difference of physical properties of sludge in level and treatment direction, the mix ratio of curing agent and the parameters of mixing equipment shall be adjusted appropriately to ensure the uniformity of sludge curing effect.…”

Influence of Tianjiaotan Hydraulic Project on Ecology of Mangrove Forest in Xinying Bay by WEN Jizhou, ZHAO Guanghui, WANG Lang, ZHANG Zhiguang, ZHANG Shalong, LI Mei

    Published 2023-01-01
“…The construction and operation of Tianjiaotan Reservoir have changed the hydrological characteristics of Beimen River channel under the dam and affect the area of dilution zone, salinity, saltwater intrusion distance, and sediments in Beimen River estuary, which will further affect the growth and reproduction of the mangrove forest in Xinying Bay.This article investigates the current ecological status of the mangrove forest in Xinying Bay of Beimen River and establishes a mathematic model for planar two-dimensional salinity diffusion in Beimen River estuary by adopting three key factors affecting the growth and reproduction of the mangrove forest, such as the area of dilution zone, salinity, and saltwater intrusion distance. In addition, the article analyzes the influence of Tianjiaotan hydraulic project on the ecology of the mangrove forest. The results show that the salinity change of the estuary has little effect on the adult plants in the mangrove forest (with growth stress mainly observed) but limits the growth and development of seedlings. The increase in saltwater intrusion distance in the flood season can stimulate the upward development of the mangrove forest along the river;the decrease in the area of dilution zone in Xinying Bay may change the structure of the mangrove community in the estuary in a way that benefits the growth of salt-tolerant mangrove plants such as Avicennia marina and Rhizophora stylosa and affects the growth and development of salt-intolerant mangroves plants. The research results can provide a theoretical basis for the ecological conservation of the mangrove forest in Xinying Bay.…”
