FGF21 ameliorates diabetic nephropathy through CDK1-dependently regulating the cell cycle
Published 2025-01-01“…FGF21 has been shown to ameliorate diabetic nephropathy, and in addition FGF-21-treated mice impeded mitogenicity, whereas it is unclear whether FGF21 can influence DN progression by regulating the cell cycle in diabetic nephropathy.MethodsIn order to create a diabetic model, STZ injections were given to C57BL/6J mice for this investigation. …”

Updated Bayesian network meta-analysis on the efficacy and safety of PD−1 versus PD−L1 inhibitors in first−line treatment with chemotherapy for extensive−stage small-cell lung canc...
Published 2025-01-01“…ObjectiveTo compare the efficacy and safety of programmed cell death 1 inhibitors plus chemotherapy (PD-1 + Chemo) and programmed cell death ligand 1 inhibitors plus chemotherapy (PD-L1 + Chemo) for the treatment of extensive-stage small-cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC).MethodsWe performed a meta-analysis of relevant data using R software, considering overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), and grade ≥ 3 treatment-related adverse events (TRAES).ResultsPD-1 + Chemo (OS: hazard ratio [HR] 0.71; PFS: HR 0.59) and PD-L1 + Chemo (OS: HR 0.72; PFS: HR 0.73) significantly prolonged survival and did not increase the incidence of grade ≥3 TRAEs compared with chemotherapy. …”

Experimental investigation into the Impact of Cyclic High Low Pressure Water Immersion on the Pore structure and Mechanical properties of coal
Published 2025-01-01“…The findings reveal that the porosity of coal samples subjected to high-pressure continuous immersion and high-low pressure cyclic immersion initially decreases slightly before increasing as the immersion cycle progresses. The maximum porosity enhancements observed were 1.55% and 2.93%, respectively, while the total connectivity increased by 19.07% and 24.79%, respectively. …”

OSBPL3 modulates the immunosuppressive microenvironment and predicts therapeutic outcomes in pancreatic cancer
Published 2025-01-01“…Methods We constructed a prognostic and risk assessment model for pancreatic cancer using 101 machine learning algorithms, identifying OSBPL3 as a key gene associated with disease progression and prognosis. We integrated multi-dataset analyses, single-cell transcriptomic data, and functional experiments to explore the role of OSBPL3 in pancreatic cancer. …”

Association between poor drug adherence and undernutrition among adult HIV patients in southern Ethiopia: an institution based cross sectional study
Published 2025-01-01“…Good adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART) indirectly helps prevent undernutrition by suppressing viral load, increasing CD4 count, preventing viral resistance, enhancing immune reconstitution and delaying disease progression in HIV patients. This study aims to assess the association between poor drug adherence and undernutrition among adult HIV patients in southern Ethiopia.Study design An institution based cross sectional study design was used.Setting and participants The study was conducted in 406 randomly selected adult HIV patients from Gamo zone public health facilities.Primary and secondary outcomes The data were collected by a trained data collector using a structured interviewer administered questionnaire, patient record review and physical measurements. …”

Outcomes following immunosuppressive therapy withdrawal after complete renal response in proliferative lupus nephritis
Published 2025-01-01“…In contrast, an IST duration exceeding 48 months prior to discontinuation (HR: 0.26), maintaining CRR for at least 48 months (HR: 0.32), achieving complete remission per DORIS (definition of remission in systemic lupus erythematosus) criteria at IST withdrawal (HR: 0.21) and gradual IST tapering (HR: 0.09) were associated with a reduced risk of RR.Following reintroduction of IST, 20 out of 29 patients (68.9%) achieved CRR, 5 (17.2%) achieved a partial response and 4 (13.8%) did not respond; of these, 3 patients (10.3%) progressed to end-stage renal disease. Conclusions Successful withdrawal of IST is possible in carefully selected patients with proliferative LN. …”
