The Endocannabinoid, Anandamide, Acts as a Novel Inhibitor of LPS-Induced Inflammasome Activation in Human Gastric Cancer AGS Cell Line: Involvement of CB1 and TRPV1 Receptors
Published 2021-01-01“…Inflammasome activation is a pivotal step for the maturation of IL-1β, which is involved in the development and progression of gastric cancer (GC). Endocannabinoids, such as anandamide (AEA), are emerging as new anticancer therapeutic agents; however, their effects on inflammasome components and underlying mechanisms have not been well elucidated. …”

The prognostic role of mitosis index, stage and grade of endometrial cancer in Dr. Soetomo General Academic Hospital Surabaya, Indonesia, in 2018-2020
Published 2024-07-01“…An increase in the mitotic index, reflecting a higher proliferation rate of cancer cells, was associated with a more advanced cancer stage, suggesting that the mitotic index could potentially serve as a prognostic marker for assessing tumor progression in endometrial cancer. However, our analysis revealed no significant correlation between the mitotic index and the histological grade of endometrial cancer, implying that the grade, which typically reflects the differentiation status and morphological characteristics of the tumor cells, is independent of the proliferation rate as measured by the mitotic index. …”

Inflamed immune phenotype predicts favorable clinical outcomes of immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy across multiple cancer types
Published 2024-02-01“…We evaluated the correlation between the IIP and ICI treatment outcomes in terms of objective response rates (ORR), progression-free survival (PFS), and overall survival (OS) in a cohort of 1,806 ICI-treated patients representing over 27 solid tumor types retrospectively collected from multiple institutions. Results We observed an overall IIP prevalence of 35.2% and significantly more favorable ORRs (26.3% vs 15.8%), PFS (median 5.3 vs 3.1 months, HR 0.68, 95% CI 0.61 to 0.76), and OS (median 25.3 vs 13.6 months, HR 0.66, 95% CI 0.57 to 0.75) after ICI therapy in IIP compared with non-IIP patients, respectively (p<0.001 for all comparisons). …”

ERRα promotes glycolytic metabolism and targets the NLRP3/caspase-1/GSDMD pathway to regulate pyroptosis in endometrial cancer
Published 2023-10-01“…CUT & Tag sequencing and The Cancer Genome Atlas database analysis showed that ERRα participated in glycolysis and programmed cell death, which resulted in EC progression. Conclusions ERRα inhibits pyroptosis in an NLRP3-dependent manner and induces glycolytic metabolism, resulting in cisplatin resistance in EC cells.…”
