Gender disparities in music education and music-making amongst the Swedish adult population
Published 2025-01-01“… This article explores the extent of gender disparities in: (a) formal non-compulsory music education (FNCME), (b) instrument uptake, choice and continuation, and (c) music composition and production within the Swedish adult population. A nationally representative online survey of 1096 respondents aged 18–79 years old was conducted in 2023 and analysed using chi-squared tests and binary logistic regression. …”

Analysis of QTLs Associated with the Rice Quality Related Gene by Double Haploid Populations
Published 2014-01-01“…We investigated the growth characteristics and analyzed the physicochemical properties of a doubled haploid population derived from a cross between “Cheongcheong” and “Nagdong” to breed a rice variety that tastes good after cooking and to detect quantitative trait loci (QTLs) associated with the taste of cooked rice. …”

Genetic risk factors associated with gestational diabetes in a multi-ethnic population.
Published 2021-01-01“…We investigated whether the same gene loci confer a risk for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in women from Hawaii, and in particular, Pacific Islander and Filipino populations.
Methods
Blood was collected from 291 women with GDM and 734 matched non-diabetic controls (Pacific Islanders: 71 GDM, 197 non-diabetic controls; Filipinos: 162 GDM, 395 controls; Japanese: 58 GDM, 142 controls). …”

Resource allocation optimization algorithm based on double populations differential evolution in WSN
Published 2018-04-01“…A resource allocation algorithm was proposed for improving the network performance through jointing channel allocation, power control and timeslot allocation in multi-radio multi-channel wireless sensor network.More specifically, the network was modeled as a multi-objective optimization problem where the energy efficient, resource allocation balanced, networks capacity maximized were considered under the link interference and link conflict constraints.Due to the problem was NP-Hardness,a simple centralized algorithm——differential evolution based on double populations was used to solve the constrained multi-objective optimization problem. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm significantly improves the network capacity and energy efficiency and guarantees the resource allocation balancing while reducing link interference and avoiding link conflict.…”
