Cooperative mechanisms of oxide ion conduction in tellurites with secondary bond interactions and Grotthuss-like processes
Published 2025-02-01“…Bi2Te2O7 and Bi2Te4O11 were selected due to their abundance of secondary bonds similar to hydrogen bonds and show high oxide ionic conductivity as mixed electronic and ionic conductors. Neutron total scattering experiments with reverse Monte Carlo simulations indicated that the oxide ion migration in those two tellurites is a synergetic effect of mutual transition between Te-O secondary bonds and covalent bonds assisted by Te-O polyhedra rotation. …”

Predicting the Rate of Fast Radio Bursts in Globular Clusters from Binary Black Hole Observations
Published 2025-01-01“…A potential explanation is super-Chandrasekhar binary white dwarf (BWD) coalescences, which may produce FRB-emitting neutron stars. GCs can also give rise to binary black hole (BBH) mergers detectable with gravitational waves, and the BWD coalescence rate from GCs is correlated with their BBH merger rate. …”

3D Convective Urca Process in a Simmering White Dwarf
Published 2025-01-01“…The convective Urca process is not well understood and requires 3D fluid simulations to properly model the turbulent convection, an inherently 3D process. Because the neutron excess of the fluid both sets and is set by the extent of the convection zone, the realistic steady state can only be determined in simulations with real 3D mixing processes. …”
