Estimation and Study on the Potential of Irrawaddy River Waterway
Published 2020-01-01“…Aiming at the development of the Irrawaddy River waterway, thispaper deduces the theoretical formula for the waterway depth based on the hydraulics, river dynamicsand available estimation methods for waterway potential, and estimates the theoretical depth of thewaterway that can be achieved in different sections of the Irrawaddy River by the measured data andempirical parameters. The results show that under the condition of 98% navigation guarantee rate ofthe Irrawaddy River, the minimum waterway development depth from Bhamo to Mandalay, Mandalay toProme, and Prome to Yangon is 2.14 m, 2.58 m and 2.75 m respectively, and the annual navigationcapacity is more than 1.8 billion tons. The research results can provide some theoretical andtechnical support for the development of the Irrawaddy River waterway.…”

Study on Water Erosion Intensity of Soil Slop in Reservoirs under Protection of Tela Anchor Pad
Published 2020-01-01“…The water and soil loss in the hydro-fluctuation belt of the Three Gorges Reservoir has serious adverse effects on the navigation of channel, the stability of reservoir bank and the ecological environment. In view of the problems arisen, this paper proposes a new ecological restoration technology, the Tela anchor pad ecological restoration technology. As an emerging method of slope protection, the Tela anchor pad technology lacks experimental data support in terms of resistance to water erosion before vegetation growth. Therefore, the scouring model test for the slope protection of Tela anchor pad was carried out indoors. The test results show that when the water flow velocity is less than 1.7 m/s,the erosion intensity of the Tela anchor pad is reduced by 91.5% on average compared with the bare slope.…”
