Case Study of Urban Stormwater Simulation in Foshan Based on Urban Time-Variant Gain Model by WANG Chao, GONG Siqi, XIAO Yu

Published 2023-01-01
“…The prerequisite for urban stormwater simulation and analysis is to accurately grasp urban rainfall-runoff response laws. This paper analyzes the nonlinear response law of rainfall-runoff and builds a TVGM-urban model to simulate and analyze the measured rainfall and storm scenarios designed under different recurrence periods by taking the Baolitongjifu neighborhood in Chancheng District,Foshan as the research object. The results are as follows. There is a power function correlation between rainfall and runoff in the city. The non-linear relationship between maximum rainfall intensity and peak flood flow can be verified by eight selected flood data in the neighborhood with the fitting effect of the power function (R2=0.6207,p<0.05) better than that of the linear relationship (R2=0.5629,p<0.05).Based on the identification of the catchment area and the subsurface classification, the TVGM-urban model is built in the Baolitongjifu neighborhood, and the model accuracy is verified by the measured rainfall and runoff data.Generally, the simulation results ensure that the Nash efficiency coefficient is greater than 0.7,and the simulation error of the water volume and peak value is within 20%,which can well meet the urban stormwater simulation requirements. The results can provide support and references for analyzing urban rainfall and runoff response laws and studying urban stormwater simulation.…”

Simulation Analysis of Salt Diffusion at Wanquan River Estuary under Changing Environment by HAILAI Yibo, SHI Haoran, LIU Xiaoqing, LIU Jiao, FANG Mingyi, ZHANG Lanyue

Published 2022-01-01
“…The diffusion of offshore salt in inland rivers along with tidal waves has an important effect on the aquatic ecological environment of the estuary area. This paper, taking the Wanquan River Estuary as an example, used the Mike21 model to simulate the salinity distribution along the channel under different runoff and tidal levels and analyzed the change rules and leading factors. The results show that the river system and riverbed topography at the Wanquan River Estuary reduce the upward diffusion of salt propelled by the tide and that the salt is mainly distributed in the waters near the estuary. The salinity distribution along the upper reaches of the river decreases rapidly, and it basically remains unchanged when the tidal level increases by 0.1 m and 0.3 m,respectively.A sudden increase in salinity occurs where a curved or narrow channel changes the local water flow and salt accumulates. The upward diffusion range of salt is mainly affected by runoff. …”
