Signatures of Plastic Instabilities and Strain Localization in Acoustic Emission Time-Series by Alexey Vinogradov

    Published 2025-01-01
“…In contrast, necking exhibits limited AE activity, due to reduced strain hardening and dislocation mobility during late-stage deformation. A phenomenological model, based on dislocation dynamics and initially devised for uniform deformation, is discussed to explain the observed AE spectral features during localized plastic flow. …”

Key technologies of satellite communications aided by reconfigurable holographic surfaces by Xinyuan HU, Ruoqi DENG, Boya DI, Hongliang ZHANG, Lingyang SONG

    Published 2022-10-01
“…Ultra-dense low earth orbit (LEO) satellite communication networks can overcome the scarcity of spectrum resources and the limited coverage of traditional terrestrial networks, and thus have the potential to provide high data rate services and global massive connectivity for terrestrial users. However, due to the high mobility of the satellites, LEO satellite networks put more stringent requirements on antenna technologies in terms of accurate beam steering and high antenna gain.Reconfigurable holographic surface (RHS), as a new type of metamaterial antenna, is investigated to assist LEO satellite communications. The RHS can electronically control the metamaterial units by leveraging the holographic principle to generate desired directional beams.Based on the hardware structure and holographic working principle of RHS, an RHS-assisted multi-satellite communication scheme was proposed, which considered both the LEO satellite tracking scheme and the data transmission scheme.A holographic beamforming optimization algorithm was also designed to maximize the sum rate.Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme and demonstrat that the RHS provids a more cost-effective way to support satellite communications than the conventional phased array antennas.…”

Analysis of LEO satellite communication and suggestions for its development strategy in China by Shanzhi CHEN

    Published 2020-06-01
“…The review on the development in 5G and LEO satellite communications was given on multi aspects. The role of LEO satellite communication in 5G was positioned as a complement, not yet as the main role. The proposals were thus given based on the analysis of the application requirements, technologies and the industrial level regarding to the LEO satellite communication R&D in China.Suggestions for the development of LEO satellite communication in China as:“compatible with 5G,integrated within 6G” were put forward. The development process could be divided into two steps. In the first step, the current LEO satellite communication system could be developed mostly based on the 5G technologies and compatibility, the maximumly reuse of 5G key technologies, the cost reduction from the scale economy effect of 5G,and finally the LEO advantages achieved from the differentiation between 5G and LEO.In the second step, the terrestrial mobile communication and the high, medium and low orbit satellite communications would be harmony integrated in 6G.The final suggestions were of two efforts and two cooperations:encouraging application and getting more frequency resources and satellite orbit resources, the international cooperation and the domestic cooperation,to accelerate the industrial maturity and to achieve commercial success.…”
