Design of polling access control protocol in WSN based on FPGA by Long-jun LIU, Hong-wei DING, Qian-lin LIU, Zheng-gang LIU

    Published 2016-10-01
“…MAC(media access control) protocol is a direct link between physical and network layer, which is one of the key protocols to ensure high efficient communication.According to the characteristics of WSN (wireless sensor network) nodes, the design and implementation of polling access control protocol based on FPGA (field programmable gate array) were presented for the first time. The design made full use of the characteristics of flexibility and reconfigurability of FPGA.The method of combination of the hardware circuit description language Verilog HDL and the principle diagram was adopted, using Quartus II 8.0 to carry on the synthesis and routing, testing in the DE2.The design has the characteristics of good real-time,high reliability, strong portability, and can effectively reduce the transmission delay and improve the bus utilization. The designed system can be widely used in WSN,software radio network,ad hoc networks, military integrated service network, mobile communications networks,Internet of things as well as other fields.…”

Schedule-aware power management for energy-efficiency improvement in IEEE 802.11u WLAN by Di ZHANG

    Published 2019-08-01
“…A mobile terminal supporting the IEEE 802.11u standard can automatically access a wireless local area network within the coverage of a network service provided by a wireless local area network.Aiming at the characteristics of IEEE 802.11u WLAN,a time series sensing based PSM (S-PSM) scheme was proposed. The transmission sequence information was broadcasted using a generic advertisement service (GAS) defined in the IEEE 802.11u standard, and all terminals controlled their own operating states according to the sequence information. In order to reduce the collision probability of the contention channel,a response contention window was introduced. When there was no data packet in the access point (AP),the AP broadcasted the GAS frame and activated the idle timer. All terminals went to sleep until the idle timer expires. The simulation results show that compared with the proposed traditional PSM,the scheme can significantly reduce power consumption and improve terminal energy-efficiency.…”

5G network intelligent scheduling based on core network analysis and decision by Qingyang WANG, Zhibin YANG, Biao LONG, Haoquan LIANG

    Published 2021-09-01
“…Larger bandwidth and complex technology of the 5G networks inevitably bring a significant increase in overall energy consumption, so green energy-saving of mobile networks has attracted widespread attention. The long-term coexistence of 5G and 4G, as well as the wide coverage of low-frequency and the wide bandwidth characteristics of high-frequency of 5G, enable different types of services to be carried by different carriers of 5G or 4G respectively.Based on the above considerations, a 5G network intelligent scheduling scheme based on corenetwork analysis and decision was proposed, which could schedule different types of services to different radio access and frequencies for carrying, so as to achieve service assurance and energy-saving.Simulation results reveal that, compared with the existing schedule scheme within radio access network, 5G network intelligent scheduling has advantages in energy saving while ensuring quality of service. Finally, the progress of international standardization of 5G network intelligent scheduling was introduced.…”
