Exploration of the Effect of Tobacco Smoking on Metabolic Measures in Young People Living with HIV by Mark L. Rubinstein, D. Robert Harris, Bret J. Rudy, Bill G. Kapogiannis, Grace M. Aldrovandi, Kathleen Mulligan

    Published 2014-01-01
“…We conducted cross-sectional, multicenter studies in HIV-positive young women and men to assess metabolic and morphologic complications from tobacco smoking in 372 behaviorally infected HIV-positive youth, aged 14–25 years. Measurements included self-reported tobacco use, fasting lipids, glucose, fat distribution, and bone mineral density (BMD; dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry scans). …”

MEASUREMENT OF CO AND NO2 GAS CONCENTRATION'S BY MULTISENSOR MICROSYSTEM IN THE MODE OF PULSE HEATING by O. G. Reutskaya, Y. M. Pleskachevsky

    Published 2017-06-01
“…The aim of this work was to study the effectiveness of the pulsed heating for multisensor microsystems consisting of two sensors on the substrate of the nanostructured aluminum oxide, compared with the mode of constant heating. For sensitive layers were chosen compositions: SnO2+Pt+Pd at the first sensor of the microsystem and In2O3+Al2O3+Pt on the second. Measuring the sensor response in the pulse heating mode was carried out as follows. …”

Seepage Analysis of the Earth Dam of a Reservoir Based on Measured Piezometer Data by LIU Fengru, BOLANHAN·Kaiken, ZHAN Damei

    Published 2021-01-01
“…Dam seepage is one of the main factors endangering dam safety, especially for earth-rock dam.Taking the homogeneous earth dam of a reservoir as the example, this paper analyzes the measured piezometer data, and calculates and analyzes the seepage field of the typical dam section under typical stable and transient working conditions by the finite element method for obtaining the pore pressure distribution law,and comparing it with the measured value. The results show that:The distance between piezometer and upstream dam toe is negatively correlated with piezometer water level, and the change trend of piezometer water level is basically consistent with that of reservoir water level; The isopotential line is deflected at the material partition, and dense at the cutoff wall, and the phreatic line and release point below the cutoff wall lower; The measured and theoretical values of phreatic line coincide well, which increase or decrease with the reservoir water level with good correlation; The seepage gradient at the release point under each working condition is less than the allowable gradient, and the seepage stability of the dam meets the requirements.…”
