Selenium-enriched oolong tea (Camellia sinensis) extract exerts anti-inflammatory potential via targeting NF-κB and MAPK pathways in macrophages
Published 2022-05-01“…Moreover, Se-TEs also effectively inhibited the productions of inflammatory cytokines, such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and interleukin-1β (IL-1β). Furthermore, Se-TE could block mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) signaling pathways through the inhibition of the phosphorylation of key proteins (IκB-α, p65, p38, ERK, and JNK) and the translocation of the p65 subunit into the nucleus. …”

Clinical characteristics and risk factors of Clostridioides difficile infection in children with diarrhoea
Published 2025-02-01“…ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical characteristics and risk factors of Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) in children with diarrhea, and to provide evidence for the clinical prevention and treatment of CDI.MethodsThe clinical data of 192 children with diarrhoea suspected of CDI admitted from August 2020 to March 2023 were retrospectively analysed and divided into two groups according to whether CDI occurred, and the clinical characteristics and risk factors of the two groups were analysed statistically.ResultsThere were 85 cases of CDI in children with diarrhoea, 60 males (70.6%) and 25 females (29.4%), with a male to female ratio of 2.4:1; clinical manifestations were mostly fever, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, vomiting and blood in stool, with no statistically significant differences compared to the non-infected group. Interleukin - 6 (IL - 6) levels were lower in the CDI group than in the non - CDI group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). …”

Protective Effects of Chitosan Oligosaccharide Against Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Inflammatory Response and Oxidative Stress in Bovine Mammary Epithelial Cells
Published 2025-01-01“…In this study, the results demonstrated that COS protected BMECs from the inflammatory response induced by LPS by restraining the excessive production of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and interleukin-1β (IL-1β). COS treatment also suppressed excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and restored antioxidant enzyme activity under LPS-induced oxidative stress conditions. …”
