Design of MAC protocol and performance analysis for heterogeneous nodes separating CRSN
Published 2017-08-01“…Cognitive wireless sensor network (CRSN) is a new type of network that introduces cognitive radio (CR) technology into traditional WSN,and has certain application value and developmental prospect. However, the additional energy consumption, processing requirements and its high cost implementation have hindered its further development and application.Based on this, transfering cognitive functions to another nodes——cognitive nodes which have ability of processing and collecting energy was proposed. The cognitive nodes were deployed with the ordinary sensor nodes according to the certain proportion. They form a new type of network——heterogeneous node CRSN (HT-CRSN).The new network can improve network performance and reduce the deployment cost. Then a work schedule which can be applied to this kind of heterogeneous node sensor networks and a series of feasible MAC protocols was proposed. The analysis of the proposed MAC protocol proves that energy consumption can be balanced by adjusting the deployed ratio of the two kinds of heterogeneous nodes and the network life cycle is improved.…”

Delay-optimal spectrum decision method for cognitive network
Published 2012-11-01“…Spectrum decision was investigated within the confine of spectrum management framework for cognitive radio networks.Sensing errors in PHY layer, outage probability on wireless channel and multiple interruptions of primary user were taken into consideration.Probability-based and sensing-based spectrum decision methods were proposed, which were capable of balancing traffic evenly among licensed. For the probability-based method,short-time first discipline was employed to further shorten average residual time,closed-formed expression were presented based on dynamical programing. For the sensing based method, new channel could be chosen for uncompleted transmission, which alleviated the time spent in waiting primary user.Optimal residual time was obtained by choosing the minimal value of the two methods.Furthermore, spectrum heterogeneity was taken into consideration and theoretical analysis was of general sense.Simulation results validate the approach is efficient.…”

Research on the spectrum sensing and sharing technology in the dynamic spatiotemporal data driven cognitive Internet of vehicles
Published 2020-09-01“…With the explosive development of the intellectualization and network connection of the global automobile industry, the communication technology as a crucial support of the Internet of vehicles (IoV) is facing the problem of spectrum shortage. In addition to providing security services, the diverse service demands of the IoV make the introduction of the cognitive radio technology an effective solution, which can share heterogeneous spectrum resources integrating the sub-6 GHz and millimeter-wave spectrum resources with primary users. But the performance is limited due to the influence of the complex dynamic environment of the IoV.To address this issue,a novelty method was proposed which aimed to make full use of the potential multi-source dynamic spatiotemporal data, mine and learn the changing rules of the vehicle trajectory and traffic flow, and the rules were used to guide the sensing and sharing of the spectrum resource. The system-level simulation platform was built for simulation analysis, the results showed that the performance of the proposed scheme was effectively improved.…”

Outage performance analysis of IRS-aided cognitive satellite-terrestrial network
Published 2023-07-01“…The outage performance of intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) aided cognitive satellite-terrestrial network was analyzed.Firstly, for the scenario where the point beam was enabled at the satellite to serve the earth station, and the IRS and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) were deployed at the base station to expand the communication range and serve multiple users, respectively, under the condition that cognitive radio technology was employed to enable spectrum sharing between the satellite primary network and the terrestrial secondary network, an optimization problem was established to maximize the average signal-to-noise ratio of terrestrial users.Secondly, a low complexity IRS phase shift design was proposed by using channel state information based on the angle domain, and the phase shift matrix of IRS was obtained. Then, the closed-form expressions of outage probabilities of terrestrial users were derived when users were static and moving, respectively.Furthermore, the asymptotic outage probability formulas at high signal-to-noise ratio were also derived to analyze the system performance. Finally, the correctness of derivation and the influence of main parameters on outage performance were verified by computer simulations.…”

Differentiated services dynamic spectrum access strategy for cognitive wireless mesh network
Published 2014-03-01“…Dynamic spectrum access (DSA) is an important design aspect for cognitive radio network.Common access of multi-type services having different quality of service (QoS) requirements is the important characteristic of cognitive wireless mesh network.Differentiated service (DS) is the key to realize the high efficiency use of spectrum resources and to guarantee the high quality transmission of services. In order to satisfy the demand for multi-type services,a differentiated services dynamic spectrum access strategy was proposed. In this strategy, the unlicensed user traffic was divided into three priority classes. The DSA scheme uses different access mechanisms for the three classes of unlicensed users. The real-time traffic selectes available channel set according to the shortest expected delay to reduce the transmission time and the probability of appearance of licensed user during data transmission process. The general traffic selectes the channel of largest successful transmission probability to avoid spectrum handoff. The theoretical and experimental results show that, when compared with the traditional cognitive networks DSA strategy, the proposed strategy is able to guarantee different QoS for the various services, shorter transmission delay for higher priority services, reducing the probability of transmission interruption and better throughput performance when the vacancy rate of licensed channel is major and heavy network load.…”

Simulation and analysis of software defined cognitive frequency hopping multi beam satellite system
Published 2017-11-01“…Traditional multi-beam satellites cannot adapt to the changing traffic because of the fixed bandwidth and cannot adjust dynamically for the traffic load.In the future, the multi-beam broadband satellite system must have great flexibility and can be dynamically adjusted according to the change of the traffic flow.Beam hopping for multi-beam broadband satellite network system has been proposed to improve the traditional multi-beam broadband satellite network system performance, whose principle is to assign different beams to different time slots, rather than the allocation of bandwidth,so that in each time slot, the entire available bandwidth is allocated to each beam, and the time window is periodically applied to the beam selection system ,in the full band hopping mode, the band can be selected optimally in the duration of each beam to meet user transmission bandwidth and delay requirements. With the development of cognitive radio technology, cognitive beam hopping for multi-beam satellite system can further improve the efficiency of spectrum utilization,to meet the growing shortage of spectrum resources,to achieve large-capacity high-bandwidth broadband satellite network system, and to support the rising user service capacity and the transmission efficiency of user services under different load conditions. In addition, software definition technology is also used in satellite networks, which could achieve effective management of satellite resources to improve the utilization of satellite resources. In this paper, the principle of software-defined cognitive hopping multi-beam broadband satellite network system is discussed. The spectrum utilization efficiency and throughput are analyzed, which can be used as a reference for broadband satellite network system design.…”
