Influence of Tianjiaotan Hydraulic Project on Ecology of Mangrove Forest in Xinying Bay
Published 2023-01-01“…The construction and operation of Tianjiaotan Reservoir have changed the hydrological characteristics of Beimen River channel under the dam and affect the area of dilution zone, salinity, saltwater intrusion distance, and sediments in Beimen River estuary, which will further affect the growth and reproduction of the mangrove forest in Xinying Bay.This article investigates the current ecological status of the mangrove forest in Xinying Bay of Beimen River and establishes a mathematic model for planar two-dimensional salinity diffusion in Beimen River estuary by adopting three key factors affecting the growth and reproduction of the mangrove forest, such as the area of dilution zone, salinity, and saltwater intrusion distance. In addition, the article analyzes the influence of Tianjiaotan hydraulic project on the ecology of the mangrove forest. The results show that the salinity change of the estuary has little effect on the adult plants in the mangrove forest (with growth stress mainly observed) but limits the growth and development of seedlings. The increase in saltwater intrusion distance in the flood season can stimulate the upward development of the mangrove forest along the river;the decrease in the area of dilution zone in Xinying Bay may change the structure of the mangrove community in the estuary in a way that benefits the growth of salt-tolerant mangrove plants such as Avicennia marina and Rhizophora stylosa and affects the growth and development of salt-intolerant mangroves plants. The research results can provide a theoretical basis for the ecological conservation of the mangrove forest in Xinying Bay.…”

Reconstruction of LDPC code check matrix based on random extraction at high bit error rate
Published 2023-03-01“…In order to improve the performance of the sparse check matrix reconstruction algorithm of LDPC codes at high BER, an open set recognition algorithm of the check matrix with strong fault tolerance under the condition of sufficient and insufficient number of received code words was proposed.Firstly, a new code word space was constructed by randomly extracting part bits of the code words for many times.Gaussian elimination method was used to solve the dual vector and restore the check vector in a lower dimension.Secondly, using the check vector, the proportion of error-free code groups in the received data was continuously increased by using the methods of “eliminating error code words” or“flipping the lowest unreliable bits” for iterative processing.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to comparison algorithm under different bit error rates, different code lengths, different code rates and different number of code words. For (648,324) LDPC codes in IEEE 802.11n protocol, when the number of received code words is sufficient, the reconstruction rate of check matrix can reach more than 95% under the condition of bit error rate of 0.003.When the number of received code words is insufficient (the number of code words is 450), the reconstruction rate of check matrix can reach more than 90% under the condition of bit error rate of 0.0015.…”

Radio frequency energy harvesting-combined collaborative energy-saving computation offloading mechanism
Published 2023-03-01“…In order to fit the differentiated energy demands in vertical markets and ensure that internet of things (IoT) devices can hold an efficient and sustainable operation mode, a radio frequency energy harvesting-combined collaborative energy-saving computation offloading mechanism was studied.Specifically, a system energy consumption minimization problem was formulated under the joint optimization consideration of computation offloading decision, uplink bandwidth resource allocation, downlink bandwidth resource allocation and base station power splitting.Meanwhile, by combining the concept of penalty function, a new evaluation index was introduced, and then an adaptive particle swarm optimization-based collaborative energy saving computation offloading (APSO-CESCO) algorithm was proposed to solve the problem. The proposed algorithm constructed dynamic inertia weight and linearly adjusted penalty factor, which could alternate the spatial distribution density of the particle community in real-time during the iterative search process, and the optimal computation offloading policy with tolerable punishment could be well-generated.Furthermore, to prevent particles from exceeding exploration range, the velocity boundary was introduced which could also reduce the generation probability of invalid solutions and improve the actual exploration effectiveness. Finally, the simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve higher convergence efficiency and solution accuracy, and compared with other common benchmark schemes, the system energy consumption can be reduced by 34.09%, 14.72%, and 6.86%, respectively.…”
