PROBABILISTIC FATIGUE LIFE PREDICTION APPROACH FOR MULTI-SITE DAMAGE COMPONENTS by XIE LiYang, MA YuanYuan, LIU JianZhong, WU NingXiang, CHEN Bo

    Published 2015-01-01
“…Fatigue is a phenomenon of high uncertainty, especially for components with multiple damage sites. The fatigue life( either mean value or probability distribution of the random variable) of a complex component with multiple damage sites is not equal to that of a simple component with only one damage site.A multi-site damage component is a series system with many weak links( damage sites) in probability sense.A probabilistic fatigue life prediction model for multi-site damage component is presented based on a systematic thought,as well as the order statistics and extreme statistics concept.Such developed model can naturally reflect the effect of the dependence among different damage sites.Experimental result and the example on multi-site damage component fatigue life prediction shows that the fatigue life of a multi-site damage component is much lower than that of a single site damage component.…”

Secondary throughput maximization scheme for non-linear energy harvesting cognitive radio networks by Haijiang GE, Ning JIA, Kaikai CHI, Yunzhi CHEN

    Published 2023-02-01
“…Aiming at a cognitive radio network (CRN) consisting of a pair of primary users and M pairs of secondary users, the secondary throughput maximization for CRN based on the non-linear energy harvesting model was studied.Specifically, in the case of considering secondary transmitter (ST) circuit power, the secondary throughput maximization (STM) problem with primary users’ throughput demands was first modeled as a non-linear optimization problem and then transformed into a convex optimization problem. Finally, a low-complexity algorithm combining the golden section and dichotomy was proposed.By applying this low-complexity algorithm, the optimal time allocation of the primary transmitter (PT)’s energy transmission and secondary users’ information transmission, and the optimal transmission power of PT were obtained. In addition, for the case of neglecting the ST circuit power, the convex property of the STM problem was first proved, and then a more efficient algorithm was designed to solve it.The simulation results show that compared with the equal time allocation method and the link gain priority method, the proposed design algorithm significantly improves the throughput of secondary users.…”

Omni directional video coding rate distortion optimization method based on weighted-to-spherically-uniform structural similarity by Yufeng ZHOU, Mei YU, Baozhen DU, Yang SONG, Gangyi JIANG

    Published 2019-02-01
“…Aiming at the shortcomings of the coding rate distortion model in traditional video coding, considering the characteristics of equal rectangular omnidirectional video,a method of omnidirectional video coding rate distortion optimization based on spherical weighted structural similarity (WS-SSIM) was proposed.By considering the distortion of the internal structural similarity of the projection plane and the relationship between the spherical distortion and the projection plane distortion, the “spherical weighted structural similarity” was proposed to describe the degree of distortion of the planar omnidirectional image local block relative to the viewing sphere, which was applied to the rate-distortion optimization process of omnidirectional video coding and adaptive selection of quantization parameters to improve vision-based coding efficiency. The experimental results show that compared with the HEVC video coding standard HM16.9 test platform, the proposed method can save an average of 24.48% code rate under the same visual quality, which indicates that the method has significant performance for improving the omnidirectional video coding rate distortion performance.…”
