Violet glasses… but with what lenses? Theoretical routes between the production and the reproduction of work by Andreina Colombo

    Published 2021-05-01
“…Using the analogy of the “purple glasses”, three different approaches are identified: (i) with single vision lenses (looking at either production or reproduction), which attempts to describe the two realms from the viewpoint of only one of the two, ii) with bifocal lenses, which consider productive and reproductive work as equally relevant, while establishing clear-cut differences between the two, and iii) with progressive lenses, which allow us to see the two domains as part of a continuum, stressing their simultaneities, overlays and intermittencies . …”

FATIGUE PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF CASTING CRANES CONSIDERING NON⁃LINEAR CUMULATIVE DAMAGE by YAN MengYu, WEI GuoQian, DUAN RuoChen

    Published 2024-08-01
“…Aiming at the fatigue problem of casting cranes in service process, considering the actual service load spectrum, the fatigue performance of casting cranes was analyzed based on the non⁃linear cumulative damage principle.Firstly, the stress time history of the key fatigue hot spots of the in⁃service casting crane in a steel plant was measured. Then, the one⁃dimensional load spectrum was compiled based on the two⁃parameter rain flow counting method and Goodman equal life equation. In addition, the commonly used linear cumulative damage model and low⁃high and high⁃low non⁃linear cumulative damage model were used to calculate and analyze the damage and life characteristics of the key parts. The results show that the fatigue load spectrum of casting cranes is closely related to the location of fatigue calculation point and the actual service process.Compared with the commonly used linear cumulative damage model, the non⁃linear cumulative damage model has higher prediction accuracy, and more conservative life prediction results can be obtained by using the high⁃low load loading sequence.…”

Refleksje nad zastosowaniem korczakowskich metod partycypacyjnej pracy z dziećmi w obozach dla uchodźców by Urszula Markowska-Manista, Dominika Zakrzewska-Olędzka

    Published 2019-06-01
“…Through reference to activities implemented there and oriented towards children, we discuss their problematic character connected with e.g. the absence of participatory, rights-based approach (art. 12 CRC) that serves children’s emancipation and equality. In the second part of the article, we propose the implementation of Janusz Korczak’s methods – solutions for participatory work with children (“underprivileged” groups), which seem both timeless and universal. …”
