Gamma-Ray Bursts and Kilonovae from the Accretion-induced Collapse of White Dwarfs
Published 2025-01-01“…This study examines extreme combinations of magnetic fields and rotation rates, motivated both by the need to address the limitations of 2D axisymmetric simulations and to explore the physics of AIC under rare conditions that, while yet to be observationally confirmed, may be consistent with current theoretical models and account for unusual events. Under these assumptions, our results demonstrate that, if realizable, such systems can generate relativistic jets and neutron-rich outflows with properties consistent with long gamma-ray bursts (LGRBs) accompanied by kilonovae, such as GRB 211211A and GRB 230307A. …”

Codon Usage is Influenced by Compositional Constraints in Genes Associated with Dementia
Published 2022-08-01“…A high bias toward GC-ending codons enhances the gene expression level, evidenced by the positive association between CAI- and GC-ending codons. Unusual behavior of the TTG codon showing an inverse relationship with the GC-ending codon and negative influence of gene expression, behavior contrary to all other GC-ending codons, shows an operative selectional force. …”

Parasitic structure defect blights sustainability of cobalt-free single crystalline cathodes
Published 2025-01-01“…Here, we reveal that removing Co from SC cathodes is structurally and electrochemically unfavorable, exhibiting unusual voltage fade behavior. Using multiscale diffraction and imaging techniques, we identify lithium-rich nanodomains (LRNDs) as a heterogeneous phase within the layered structure of Co-free SC cathodes. …”
