Modulation of local immunity by the vaginal microbiome is associated with triggering spontaneous preterm birth
Published 2024-11-01“…Additionally, it sought to uncover the microbial composition and functional characteristics of immune states linked to preterm birth, and to evaluate the impact of bacterial interactions on the initiation of preterm birth.MethodsUtilizing 16S rRNA sequencing data and local immune factor expression data from a publicly available longitudinal pregnancy cohort, we conducted immunophenotyping through unsupervised clustering of the immune factors. …”

Combined 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentrations and physical activity on mortality in US stroke survivors: findings from the NHANES
Published 2025-01-01“…In addition, pooled analyses showed that stroke survivors with high 25(OH)D and PA had the lowest risk of all-cause death (HR, 0.132; 95%CI, 0.038–0.460) and non-MACE (HR, 0.092; 95%CI, 0.023–0.363), there is an additive interaction between 25(OH)D and PA in non-MACE. Conclusion In conclusion, this study found that combining high 25(OH)D levels and PA showed an enhanced protective effect which demonstrated a synergistic effect between them in reducing mortality among stroke survivors. …”

Isolation and function of a human endothelial cell C1q receptor
Published 1993-01-01“…Therefore, it was hypothesized that during a primary immune response generation of IgM-IC may occur, resulting in binding and activation of C1, dissociation of activated C1 by C1 inhibitor and subsequent interaction of IgM-IC bearing C1q with EC–C1qR.…”

Ecological security driving mechanisms and optimization of zoning in Chinese urban agglomerations: A case study of the central plains urban agglomeration
Published 2025-02-01“…Spatial disparities in ecological security were relatively small, and counties with lower ecological security levels tended to show greater clustering; (2) The explanatory power of the driving factors is ranked as follows: human factors > natural factors > landscape factors. Interaction detection factors exhibit varying degrees of dual-factor or nonlinear enhancement, with the combined strength of positive effects being greater than that of negative effects; (3) The spatial distribution characteristics of ecological security zones in the CPUA align with those of ecological security conditions. …”

Analysis of changes in the genome of the Omsk hemorrhagic fever virus (Flaviviridae: Orthoflavivirus) during laboratory practices for virus preservation
Published 2024-12-01“…Discriminant analysis of differences in nucleotide substitutions for groups combining sequences by the number of passages does not allow reliable discrimination between original sequences obtained from muskrat and sequences from first passages, but it recognizes well sequences from 7 or more passages, which suggests the possibility of adaptive selection of nucleotide substitutions when interacting with the body of a white mouse. Calculation of the average rate of substitutions per site per year without taking into account the occurrence of adaptive and related substitutions gives a value of 10−5, which is almost an order of magnitude different from the result when their presence is taken into account ‒ 10−4. …”
