Optimal Integration of Solar Assisted Heating Systems in Residential Buildings by Igor Shesho, Risto Filkoski, Done Tashevski, Monika Uler-Zefikj

    Published 2021-12-01
“…In the paper the performance of the decentralized solar assisted heating systems (SAHS) for climatic conditions in Macedonia was analysed in order to assess its possibility to be integrated as part of the district heating system. The analysis is based on a holistic approach, in which the performance of the SAHS is generally functionally dependent on four factors: (1) the characteristics of each component, (2) the system structure and mutual interactions of the components, (3) the management method and (4) specific energy consumption for heating of the building. …”

Intelligent adaptation and integrated scheduling method for computing and networking resources by Weiting ZHANG, Chenghui SUN, Hongchao WANG, Jianing DAI

    Published 2023-08-01
“…To effectively support the development needs of the deep integration of networking and computing, a novel computing and network convergence architecture has emerged. In this context, how to realize the intelligent perception of computing and networking resources and the efficient scheduling of computational tasks are key problems. To this end, the new network scenario for computing and networking convergence were analyzed, a scheduling model for computing tasks and nodes was designed, and a deep reinforcement learning-based resource scheduling algorithm was proposed. The proposed algorithm was able to intelligently make scheduling decisions that minimize the system cost by sensing key information such as user devices, available capacity of computing and networking resources, and link status. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in saving system cost was verified by simulation experiments.…”

On the Regular Integral Solutions of a Generalized Bessel Differential Equation by L. M. B. C. Campos, F. Moleiro, M. J. S. Silva, J. Paquim

    Published 2018-01-01
“…The solutions of the generalized Bessel differential equation are obtained for all possible combinations of the two complex parameters, order and degree, and finite complex variable, as Frobenius-Fuchs series around the regular singularity at the origin; the series converge in the whole complex plane of the variable, except for the point-at-infinity, that is, the only other singularity of the differential equation. The regular integral solutions of the first and second kinds lead, respectively, to the generalized Bessel and Neumann functions; these reduce to the original Bessel and Neumann functions for zero degree and have alternative expressions for nonzero degree.…”

Shrinking for Survival: Integrating Degrowth Principles into Texas Zoning Regulations by Alara Yücel, Pamela Durán-Díaz

    Published 2025-01-01
“…The findings reveal that while aspects of degrowth, such as affordable housing initiatives and environmental sensitivity, are present in Texas’ zoning regulations, these remain minimal and often constrained by the overarching focus on economic profitability. To integrate degrowth principles more effectively, significant reforms are required, including disengaging zoning ideologies from economic growth, fostering autonomy and self-sufficiency, and reimagining zoning practices to prioritise equity, ecology, and collective resource management.…”
