Ludic Populism and Its Unpopular Subversion
Published 2021-09-01“…Understanding the political as a way of imagining a community as a political actor through symbolic practices, either in the interest of creating the sovereign of democratic systems or an ethnicity, I argue that video games may employ a populist imagination in constructing ‘the people’ as a basically unified group (usually in implicitly or explicitly essentialist ways) as much as they may resist or subvert this populist fantasy of homogeneity. I am especially interested in games that dialectically combine both these aspects at the same time by way of dissonances between their representational elements and their gameplay. …”

An Analytical Seismic Response for Rigid Underground Rectangular Tunnel Subjected to Incident P Waves
Published 2024-01-01“…The rectangular structure is assumed to be a movable rigid body embedded in a homogenous, isotropic, and linear elastic medium. One particular advantage of the model is that the effects of vital factors such as the rigid scattering, radiation scattering, as well as the two-dimensional scattering effect, and the wedge diffraction during movement are fully considered. …”

The Precarious Balance of Refugees: Rupture and Connectivity in Mohsin Hamid’s Exit West (2017) and Helon Habila’s Travelers (2019)
Published 2022-11-01“…The multiplicity of stories as well as the shifts in focalization and narrative modes testify to the impossibility of inscribing refugees’ experiences within a single coherent and homogeneous pattern. However, Hamid and Habila also draw from the potentialities of the novelistic genre to devise formal ways of connecting apparently disparate story lines and thereby suggest possibilities for cross-cultural solidarity between refugees who share a common condition of vulnerability.…”

Variable Transmission Range Routing Protocol Based on Vehicle Density in VANET
Published 2015-03-01“…In order to solve the problem of unstable connectivity and high bit error rate, which are caused by rapid changes in the density of vehicles on the road, while the transmission radius remained unchanged,a variable transmission range routing protocols based on vehicle density in vehicular Ad-Hoc network was proposed.According to different vehicle density, node could adjust the farthest transmission distance and reduce the transmission latency of the message, which could ensure high connection probability of the network.Based on homogeneous poisson point process model, the change conditions of transmission range with different vehicle density were deduced, and its feasible was proved.Furthermore, mathematical calculate formula of average latency was obtained according to the theoretical analysis. At last, variable transmission range routing protocol based on vehicle density and fixed transmission range routing protocol were compared by simulation. The simulated results show that the proposed protocol can be applied in actual environments, and the message can be transmitted fast from source node to destination node under the condition of high connection probability.…”
