Structure Design of the Force Testing Central Support of a Transonic and Supersonic Wind Tunnel
Published 2015-01-01“…The force testing central support is an important part of the model supporting system in a transonic & supersonic wind tunnel, the performance of which is qualified or not would directly affect the control of model attitude angel during wind tunnel tests.First, aiming at the problem that the roll angle backlash is oversized during force tests, the self-locking dual lead cylindrical worm transmission is applied to the force testing central support to solve this problem.Meanwhile, considering that the aerodynamic load is heavy, the slider and the bulging joining sleeve are both used to share the load. Then, the static structural strength of the worm transmission are checked, and at the same time, the finite element analysis is carried out to study the stress and deformation both in the sustaining body and the chief axis. Finally, the calibration model tests for the new force testing central support in comparison with the former one are conducted. Results indicate that the structural design is reasonable, the data presented a good correlation, and the design of the new force testing support is successful for wind tunnel tests.…”

EFFECTS OF MICROSTRUCTURE ON THE LARGE COMPRESSION BEHAVIOR OF RUBBER FOAMS
Published 2015-01-01“…As a type of typical cellular foams, the macro-mechanical performances of rubber foams are mainly determined by its micro-structure and cell material properties. In the work reported here, several two dimensional( 2D) finite element( FE)models having regularly and randomly arranged elliptical and circular cells were constructed. The effects of cell shapes, cell distributing, and porosities on the hyperelastic large compressive deformations of rubber foams were explored.Obtained FE analysis results show that the compressive stress-strain curves of rubber foams present three deforming regions. The compressive stress-strain curves of circular cell models have longer plateau stage than those of elliptical cell models, and circular cell models have more steady mechanical performances than elliptical cell models do.If worked as shockproof cushions, circular cell structures are thus better than elliptical cell structures.…”

DESIGN AND TEST OF A MULTI-DIMENSIONAL MICRO-VIBRATION SIMULATOR
Published 2018-01-01“…To simulate the micro-vibration of the space platform such as satellites, space stations and so on,a multidimensional micro-vibration simulator based on the Gough-Stewart configuration was designed.Firstly, the structural design of the multi-dimensional micro-vibration simulator was introduced. The theoretical model of the simulator is established by NewtonEuler’s method. In this model, the situation of misalignment between the origin of the relative reference frame and the barycenter of upper platform and load was considered.Combining with the principle of virtual work, the equations of the natural frequencies and mode shapes could be gained.Secondly, the modal of the simulator was analyzed by the finite element method and the analytical method. The first six natural frequencies and the modal shapes were obtained. The maximum error of FEA simulation is4.17% compared with the mathematical analytical solution. Finally,a prototype of the micro-vibration simulator was manufactured and its performance was testing. The test results indicate that the effective operating frequency of the simulator is up to 100 Hz,meeting the need of the vibration test.…”
