Polar codes decoding algorithm based on convolutional neural network
Published 2020-06-01“…In order to solve the problem that the existing Polar code decoding algorithm based on neural network can only decode short codewords (codewords length N≤64),a new decoding algorithm using convolution neural network for long codewords (N≥512) was put forward.Instead of using a fixed drawn from the data sample proportion as training set and test set,the neural network parameters epoch and batch were used to control the neural network input, and the data explosion problem caused by the long codewords was solved. In addition, the influence of batch and epoch parameters on the decoding performance of convolution neural network was explored and the performance difference of neural network using different activation functions were investigated.Simulation results show that with the traditional SCL (successive cancellation list,L=2) decoding algorithm, convolution neural network in low signal-to-noise ratio on the performance is better than that of SCL (L=2),in high signal-to-noise ratio and SCL (L=2) algorithm of similar performance, and the larger the training data set,the better the decoding performance of neural network.…”

Application analysis of MBTI occupational personality types in classroom group project teaching
Published 2024-01-01“…By analyzing theinfluence of different professional personalities of group members on project-based courseactivities, the following conclusions are drawn: lNFP is the most common type of studentpersonality type, ESFl is the least. lNFl and ENFl students have better grades, ET type students havea stronger willingness to be group leaders, while EF type students have a better willingness to begroup leaders; in terms of the composition of group members, the more complex the type, whenthe proportion of certain personality type is about50%, the group performance isrelatively bette.…”

Human studies and user studies: a call for methodological inter-disciplinarity (Brenda Dervin)
Published 2003-01-01“…For library and information science, which as a field has traditionally drawn on multi-disciplinary sources, the author cautions that as the field sets itself to the task of assisting the inter-disciplinary needs of its constituencies, it is especially important that the field also attend to inter-disciplinary needs within its own walls, between its many disparate and disconnected discourse communities.…”

Information limits and Thouless-Anderson-Palmer equations for spiked matrix models with structured noise
Published 2025-01-01“…In this paper, using tools from statistical physics (replica method) and random matrix theory (generalized spherical integrals) we establish the characterization of the information-theoretic limits for a noise matrix drawn from a general trace ensemble. Remarkably, our analysis unveils the asymptotic equivalence between the rotationally invariant model and a surrogate Gaussian one. …”

In Search of Lost Weather: Temporal Reflexivity and Ecological Awareness in Participatory Performance
Published 2020-12-01“…An alternative aesthetics of temporal reflexivity is presented through discussion of participatory performance projects using live action role-play drama that were designed and facilitated by the author during 2017-2018. Insights drawn from these projects suggest that a depth perspective on time can heighten participants’ awareness of relational connections within the atmospheric conditions of their play and expand their creative capacities to make their own atmospheres. …”

Val d’Hérens (Suisse) : une histoire des transitions (touristiques) manquées
Published 2024-04-01“…The originality of this work lies in its focus on a range of unfulfilled tourism development projects in a mountain valley drawn up between 1900 and 2020. The study of the relationships between the (material, ideal and institutional) dimensions within the concept of territory and constitutive of the projectual processes makes it possible to reveal the explanatory factors of the tourist transitions, which did not happen but were “missed”. …”

Finite Element Simulation Analysis of Aqueduct by Auxiliary Pier Reinforcement
Published 2020-01-01“…With an aqueduct as the engineering background, this paper establishes a finite element model of spatial entity by auxiliary pier reinforcement, analyzes the force of each construction stage before and after the aqueduct reinforcement with consideration to the material nonlinearity of concrete, and compares and analyzes the influence of different jacking forces on the reinforcement effect.Through calculation and analysis, the following conclusions can be drawn:①The structural stress, deformation and crack width of the aqueduct can be significantly reduced by auxiliary pier reinforcement method.②The reinforcement effect can be enhanced with a suitable jacking force during aqueduct reinforcement.③When the jacking force is gradually increased from zero, the vertical displacement of the aqueduct after reinforcement is reduced first and then increased, the maximum principal tensile stress of the aqueduct after jacking and reinforcement also shows a trend of decreasing first and then increasing.④The jacking force should not be too large.Otherwise, the upper edge of the aqueduct will easily crack at the mid-span position and its adjacent position.Comparative calculation and analysis of the jacking force is required before reinforcement construction.…”
