Research on adaptive rate control algorithm for H.264 based on R-Q model by Xin-zi ZHENG, Bing-qing LUO, Zhi-xin SUN

    Published 2012-12-01
“…The foundation theory of rate control theory in H.264 video coding standard was analyzed. The latest research work about rate control algorithm were summarized. On the basis of analysis.A novel frame-level rate control algorithm was proposed.Firstly,in order to reduce the inter-dependency between RDO (rate-distortion optimization) and rate control,a kind of two-stage rate control algorithm was presented.Secondly,to provide more accurate prediction of the frame complexity, instead of the MAD (mean absolute difference),bits information in the RDO-based mode decision process was employed to predict the frame complexity.Thirdly,a self-adaptive exponential R-Q model was proposed. The proposed rate control algorithm overcomes the disadvantages in the rate control precision and encoding performance of former algorithms.…”

Robust algorithm for gain-and-phase errors estimation against the direction deviations of calibration sources by Ding WANG, Hui YAO, Ying WU

    Published 2012-06-01
“…The direction deviations of the calibration sources would significantly degrade the calibration accuracy of array gain-and-phase errors.Aiming to this problem,a robust calibration algorithm for gain-and-phase errors against the location deviations was presented under the assumption that the prior probability distribution of the location deviation was known. The idea of the robust algorithm was based on subspace fitting criterion and Bayesian estimation theory framework. The gain-and-phase errors were obtained through calculating the eigenvector associated with the minimum eigenvalue of some real symmetric matrix without estimating the locations of calibration sources. The closed-form Cramér-Rao bound(CRB)for the unknown parameters was derived, and the asymptotic distributions of the robust algorithm as well as the Cheng method were also given in the presence of direction deviations. Both the theory analysis and the simulation experiments validate that the asymptotic performance of the robust algorithm can reach the CRB under some moderate conditions and outperform the Cheng method when the location deviations exist.…”

Network media streaming offloading algorithm based on QoE in mobile edge network by Zaijian WANG, Hao CHENG

    Published 2024-02-01
“…Aiming at the problems of high-latency, high energy consumption, high bandwidth, and poor quality of experience (QoE) caused by emerging network media streaming business in mobile edge computing, a computing offloading algorithm based on QoE feedback configuration was proposed.Firstly, both preprocessing and priority were comprehensively considered to maximize network resource utilization.Meanwhile, different weights were assigned to the computation tasks for establishing a resource allocation relationship.Secondly, after comprehensively taking into account deadline, computing resource, power and bandwidth constraint, an QoE model was established where the optimization objective was the weighted sum of task delay, energy consumption and precision, and the method of Lagrange multipliers was utilized to solve the established model.Simulation results indicate that, compared with the deep reinforcement learning-based online offloading algorithm, the proposed algorithm can effectively optimize the resource allocation and better improve the QoE.…”

Low complexity hybrid precoding algorithm for massive MIMO based on modified Newton method by Bo HU, Anding WANG, Guiyi WEI

    Published 2023-11-01
“…A phase tracking algorithm was proposed for massivemultiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) systems based on the modified Newton (MN) method, which effectively reduced the high computational complexity in traditional high-performance hybrid precoding schemes. The algorithm optimized the analog precoding matrix from the perspective ofsub-dimensional vector recovery. In each sub-dimension optimization, the phase tracking method was used to transform the recovery of the analog precoding vectors into an unconstrained nonlinear optimization problem, which was then solved using the MN method.Concurrently, this strategy led to a marked reduction in the computational intricacy pertaining to both the computation of correction factors and the inversion of the Hessian matrix within the framework of the MN method. This was achieved through the insightful incorporation of Gerschgorin’s Disk theorem and the Hermitian matrix block-inverse lemma.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has higher spectral efficiency and lower computational complexity than several conventional high-performance hybrid precoding schemes.…”
