Effect of Er:YAG laser bone bed milling, with or without photobiomodulation, on the bone repair process of additive manufacturing implants in rats
Published 2025-06-01“…Thus, Er:YAG laser milling, with or without photobiomodulation using the Nd:YAG laser, may represent a promising alternative for bone bed preparation in implant procedures. However, further studies are required to better characterize bone healing and its long-term consolidation.…”

Comparison of the oncological, perioperative and functional outcomes of partial nephrectomy versus radical nephrectomy for clinical T1b renal cell carcinoma: A systematic review an...
Published 2021-01-01“…There were no differences in the oncological outcome, which was demonstrated by progression-free survival (hazard ratio [HR] 0.70; p=0.22), cancer-specific mortality (HR 0.91; p=0.57) and all-cause mortality (HR 1.01; p=0.96). The two procedures were similar in estimated blood loss (WMD −16.47 mL; p=0.53) and postoperative complications (risk ratio [RR] 1.32; p=0.10), and PN provided better renal function preservation and was related to a lower likelihood of chronic kidney disease onset (RR 0.38; p=0.006). …”

Psychometric validation of a Patient-Centred Quality of Cancer Care Questionnaire in Mexico
Published 2020-03-01“…Objectives To develop and validate a Patient-Centred Quality of Cancer Care Questionnaire in Spanish (PCQCCQ-S) appropriate to the Mexican context.Design Psychometric validation of a questionnaire.Setting Two public oncology hospitals in Mexico City.Participants 1809 patients with cancer aged ≥18 years.Source of information Cross-sectional survey. Methods The validation procedures comprised (1) content validity through a group of experts and patients; (2) item reduction and evaluation of the factor structure, through an exploratory factor analysis based on the polychoric correlation matrix; (3) internal consistency using Cronbach’s alpha; (4) convergent validity between the PCQCCQ-S and supportive care needs scale; (5) correlation analysis between the PCQCCQ-S and quality of life scale by calculating Spearman’s rank-correlation coefficient; and (6) differentiation by ‘known groups’ through the Wilcoxon rank-sum test. Results The PCQCCQ-S has 30 items with the following five factors accounting for 96.5% of the total variance: (1) timely care; (2) clarity of the information; (3) information for treatment decision-making; (4) activities to address biopsychosocial needs; and (5) respectful and coordinated care. …”

Preclinical Efficacy and Safety of an Oncolytic Adenovirus KD01 for the Treatment of Bladder Cancer
Published 2025-03-01“…Background: While Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) remains the first-line therapy for high-risk bladder cancer, 30–40% of patients develop treatment resistance necessitating radical cystectomy, some are not suitable candidates for this procedure. This underscores the critical need for novel therapeutic approaches. …”
